That looks like the same kind of light that I used to have in my '92 GMC sierra. It was factory and would pull out to almost the rear of the truck w/ a magnetic base. I used it several times and should be readily available at local junkyards or probally at LMCtrucks.com

None of our vechicles except the Avalanche has an underhood light. It annoys the you-know-what out of me so I'm probably going to order some. I like the LED versus a regular light bulb.

I was able to get in on ebay for 11.50 shipped back in 2006.

The GM underhood light features a 20 foot retractable extension cord. The back of the light fixture has a magnet mounted on it for easy, no hands lighting. When you're done, simply crank the handle to retract the cord back into the housing. This was found in older GM models.

I used a White LED bulb 67-W15.... It has 15 leds in it. http://superbrightleds.com/specs/67.htm

go to lmctruck.com and check out part # 37-4148 for fender mount or # 374149 for firewall mount $60 and $70 respectfully. The one that caught my attention was part #36-4502 for $30. It is a gravity operated light that mounts on the underside of the hood!!! I also had this on my '92 GMC

That same light was in my 90 Chevy Silverado. It was sweet but I only used it once the whole time I had the truck. Go to a junk yard and find one. Im sure you could find one there, might need a light tho.

My 90 Blazer and 93 Suburban had them as well.
