I snagged this pic off the gallery and it belongs to LordVader. Please some one school me on this. Whats the purpose of these 2 filters?

The dual remote oil filter mount increases oil capacity and improves oil filtration over the factory system. It also moves the filter to a convenient location for easier filter changes. It also acts like an oil cooler since the filters are located away from the engine block.

I use larger capacity filters along with 8 quarts of Royal Purple 5W30.

Yes you do. There's an adapter that screws onto the factory connection and the hoses for the remote kit connect to the adapter.

Thanks, on my 2500 it has that little bitty oil filter way up there and is a pain to get to.

Your welcome...

So, if you go with this mod, your oil changes in the future will be very easy...even a caveman can do it

Serious question here. Does the oil flow in sequence (in one and then in and out the other one)in this set up or in parallel (both take oil and then return it at the same rate)?

Yes, the oil flows in sequence. One line in and one line out. Like supply and return...

OK last question did you install them under the AV and any problems with rock hitting them.

Never had a problem..."knock on wood"

I've been thru stuff like this...at one of my past jobsites.

Thanks I'm thinking of going with a synthetic and don't want to change it every 3,000 miles like I do now this may be the answer.

I use Royal Purple 5w30 full synthetic and the oil life monitor comes on between 6-8K miles.

Yes....but the oil and filters are not included...You will notice that I have the brass fittings installed and telfoned taped in the adapter and dual mount. The bracket that is on the left side of the mobil 1 box is a galvanized T bracket that I used along with stainless steel self tapping screws (which are not included in the kit) to install to inside of frame rail on the passenger side.

specialy having the skid plate in the way. I wouldnt doubt i have some crude oil puddled up on the skid plate

I just have to make sure it won't be too hard on the oil pump or they make a cutoff to the cooler for winter and cold weather. I'm surprise the price is not that bad.

I'm thinking I may have to remove the built in oil filter bypass.
