WTB MODS not wanted / not being used!!!
« on: October 19, 2008, 11:33:31 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had some mods hanging around they have changed their mind about or are no longer using. The cheaper the better(of course)
"'05 cladded Z71. maglight mod, ambers, all on high, bumper cupholders, LOF, sailpanel LED's, auxiliary reverse lights, vent visors, relocated FM antenna, wig-wags, underbody glow, "disco" map lights, tailgate torsion bar, 2" level kit from Readylift, Diablosport tuned, 3" performance accesories bodylift, Dale Jr Cannon wheels w/ 315/70/17's, and many more dreams waiting to become reality!!!

Looking for anything in particular?

The sail panel LED mod is quite cheap and easy to do as well as the all on hi mod.

Don't ask Moav to help you decide which mods to do, you'll need a 2nd or 3rd mortgage to keep up with her.

Bullbar, Sailpanel LED'S, Elec Tgate & Sbag Locks, Custom Decals, Ventvisors, Lund Bug Guard, Amber's, All 4 Hi FTDRL, Mag Lite/Fire Ext Mod, Headrest Monitors, bedslide

I have the all on high mod(actually Moav was around when I did that one) and I have some other things on order like sail panel lights, ventvisor, and I think I am going to go ahead and get the underbody light kit also. Another thing I have been thinking about was a 3" body lift. Having trouble deciding what direction to go with mods.

One bit of advice I can give before you go tooooo mod crazy is to really sit back and look at your Av.  What are you aiming for?  Tough, lifted, aggressive look?  Lowered street truck look?  Mainly stock with a few goodies?  You can save a lot of time and money if you make that decision first.  I just jumped in with both feet and am now finding that I wish there were a few things I had done differently, so I'll spend more re-doing mods that with some pre-thought/knowledge  I'd have done differently.  Just my  2cents

And before you order your underbody glow lights, check out the Flowlighting Inferno lights on Oznium  I've seen these and should have waited to get them before buying my Ebay stuff...very nice set (these are the ones that Travelingman had at the GTG).  That will be one of my re-do's this winter  banghead1  Or if I can save enough, get the ICELED glow

MOAv hit it right on the head-know what you want to do before you start jumping in and modding like crazy.  I think some people get a little carried away at their mods and they start to look tacky.

Personally, I think the best mod is wheels/tires and a lift-it gives your AV a mean/aggressive look if that is what you are looking for.  It is not a cheap mod by any means but the body lift is much cheaper that going with a suspension.  I had an 02 and had a body lift with no problems.  It rides the same as it does stock.  I have an 03 now, and am saving up for another body lift/wheels/tires.

Is there any specific place that is better or cheaper(in Price) that is better than others?

A lot depends on what you're looking for.  Ebay of couse is full of "deals", which is why I try to stay off of there   Another good resource is the links button above on the toolbar.  Stylintrucks.com is one of my favorites - especially the clearance section.  And just googling the part you're looking for is one way to find lots of sites....

Others I'm sure have their favorite sites, they should jump in soon
