Topic: Critique My Tire Wheel Choice Please

I know from my searching that the 07+ is a +31mm offset

Wheels - American Racing Trench 22x9.5 +18mm Offset
Tires - Nitto Terra Grappler 325/50-22
Wheel / Tire Size Comparer

I know this setup will stick out about 1.5" further then the stock wheels and tires but I want the Bushwacker Pocket Flares so thats ok.  I chose the lower offset because with the wider tires I'll need all the room I can get when turning lock to lock and these tires will still be .5" closer to the suspension then stock even with the lower offset.  I also have read I'll need at least 3" of lift for this setup to fit.  Will this wheel/tire combo be too close to the suspension to install the any of the currently available kits?  I can't seem to find a 3-4" suspension lift that works with the Autoride.  I know Skyjacker makes one because I saw them install it on one of the off-road shows on Spike TV.  I don't want more then 4" of suspension lift.  I have been searching for days now and can't find one.

Please help!  My head hurts.

P.S. 285/55-22 is an option but I would like the wider tire if it's only $5 more per tire.

Love those wheels. Can't help you on the lift issue though as I run stock height. I got a pm from Beast one time about a tire shop that said "close to Canton,Ohio" in the ad and they had all kinds of hard to find sizes. Turns out when they said close to Canton, they meant Newcomerstown. If I can find that place I'll post it here and you can also check prices there on the tires.

I like the setup too but 325?   Dayuum that going to be pretty wide.  I thing you better off with 305's instead.    LOL i think your power sterring will hate you forever with those 325's.

Nice choices Vinny, but I would consider looking at a little aggressive of a tire if you are primarily going to be on the pavement.  The Nitto Terra Grapplers are a nice tire, but I personally chose to go with a less aggressive tire when I put on my aftermarket rims/tires.  There is a nice shop in the Moraine area that is great to deal with.  The shop is called FattBoyz and is on Kettering Avenue across the street from the GM Moraine Assembly Plant.  If you go there, ask to speak with Dave!  Below are a couple of pics of the rims/tires I went with.  The rims are Gear Alloy 713Mb Double Pumps and the tires are Cooper Discoverer HT Plus 305/50/20's.

What's the difference in steering rack between us and the H2?  They come stock with 315s.  Those Boyds do look good but I'm wanting to get the truck about 5-6" higher then stock and would like the 35s to help out with that.  I can't find any tire companies with a 305 and still a 34-35" overall tire.



Boilers - Thanks for the hookup, I'll have to talk to Dave before I pull the trigger on these.  I decided to do with a black wheel so they will be a 4 season wheel and I dont have to worry so much about chrome pitting from the salt.  I just can't see spending the money for 2 sets of tires but I'll keep your recommendation in mind if I can get a deal on something aggressive for the stock wheels at a decent price.

Hmmmmm.....thank you for that ebay link.  Thats not something I've seen yet.  So if those are 33s on a 3" lift, I need to do a 6" to fit the 35s.  At least thats what I'm getting from those pics.

Yes To clear that size tire, without cutting fenders or tires, you go taller.
Just think, too high & low, overhangs, hurt.
