I know what you mean. It is  good looking Mustang.

I saw a sweet Saleen running around town today. Had an awesome looking carbon fiber hood. I keep seeing a new Challenger every evening on my way to Lowes from the base. That is a sweet looking ride as well.

Bumping this back up as it's bug season.

What do you use to remove the bugs?  Reading on the bike forum has come up with some great ideas.

I've tried Bugs B Gone, works great but there are other methods also.

Here's a great find also that works great. A wet dryer sheet. Yup, you read that right. It gets soapy and the bugs come right off. Just hose off the soap then.

A mix of water and peroxide also seems to be a favorite (mix 50/50) Leave it on for a few minutes to rehydrate the bugs and they come right off. Havn't tried that one.

Now I've also read about Rejex.  Applied properly and it leaves a thin protective layer on any hard finished surfaces like paint, chrome, etc. Don't use it on porous surfaces though. Kinda like getting wax on your cladding. I treated the bike with this and watched bugs hit my windshield and slide off without sticking. I like it. A little pricey at $21 for a 16oz bottle but I bet I can do the whole bike about 10 times with one bottle. Havn't used it on the Avy yet.
Originally designed for airplanes to keep bugs and carbon from engines from building up on the planes surface.

I know there is another product called BugSlide but I havn't tried that either. It's also a little on the pricey side.

I know this probably won't help most due to availability, but I use aircraft anti-icing fluid. It's the same thing that we use on our little planes to get the bugs off of the forward surfaces. I mix it with water and it's very gentle on finishes. I even use it on the belly to get rid of the engine and landing gear grime. If you're near a small airport, you can go to a fixed base operator that sells fuel and parts. They'll usually have it. It might be expensive, but you can usually make it last a while. I don't know how much it costs because I get it from a friend of mine. He runs an aircraft ownership management company with 9 airplanes across the country...

I usually mix it 60/40, water to fluid. Spray it on with a regular spray bottle, wait 30 seconds, rub with a clean cloth, and then wipe or rinse...

Don't forget to observe a moment of silence for those bugs that gave their lives for our driving pleasure... :cheesy1:
