What damage, got pics? Oh no I just had to ask, lol. The dealer would probably be the best bet IMO.Didit
Check with gmpartsdirect.com, you should have the part numbers from the insurance. Their shipping may seem kind of high but you should be able to save some money. My Mirror listed at $577 but they got it to me for about $350 plus $78 for the shipping. I still saved a chunk going that route and it's all new gm parts.
BUY OEM new. You will be sorry if you buy aftermarket specially if your doing it your self. I work at a bump shop and the bodyguys complain about all aftermarket parts. There usally junk/dont fit right/color might be a little different. OEM is the way to go from the dealer. I had to replace my front bumper cause of a little OOpps! I bought oem from dealer and was way happyer! I replaced it my self and it was a piece of cake! (only cause i had ever tool and clips at my work).
I'd be looking into junkyards for something like this. Most larger yards subscribe to networks and can get most parts.I was just at a couple local smaller yards, for my other car, but didn't see any Av's.
Clips? Don't they come on the new parts or is that something else I need to order???
I'll call Skillmans tomorrow for you Mo and get the prices for you of the part numbers you listed, btw, I guess we learn something new every day, on your lights that I had thought they forgot to hook up a wire, hmmm............ well maybe not, did you get them working yet, I replaced mine and guess what they dance to the music but there is no wire going to speaker wire, lol. Its got a litte microphone gizmo built into it I guess, the only thing I noticed though is that on mine, there is a corresponding light on the controller by the little microphone icon that has to be on before it will work in that mode.Mike
Thanks Mike - I really appreciate you checking on those parts for me! Good enough price, I can see a "Fix Mo's Av" GTG in Indiana coming up
Hmmmmm,,,,and which part of IN would that be? Close enough for us to show up if something like that would happen?
Indiana GTG?? Might be able to make that one!!
Ooops - waaaaay to early to say anything - Didit is checking on wholesale parts for me from his dealer - if the price is right I'll go pick them up there in Indy. If I save enough in parts, it'll cover the gas to go up and have a GREAT excuse to go visit Didit & Lu and see another part of the country I've never been too...Not sure yet if or when that'll happen...
You're right OBB - their prices are good. But the shipping SUCKS!! Ordering 4 parts, I save 460 over the shop. But the shipping for those 4 parts is $440. So I only save $20 for my extra aggravation....Doesn't sound right to me to charge so much to ship that stuff - nothing is that heavy!! Well, maybe the rear bumper impact bar - they want $158.73 S/H just for that one part!! Here are the part numbers & the shop cost:Rear bumper impact bar #88937342 $644.96 475.65Rear bumper cover #12335681 326.22 240.59Left rear quarter molding #93801784 174.15 128.48Pad, rear bumper step #12335683 48.92 36.08If you can order wholesale Didit - see what they can do - it's a no go here...
Your parts have been ordered and two of them will be here in the morning, one will be Wed and the other Thur. lol. I told Greg I'd pick em up Tue!Didit
Didit, That is one of the most generous signs of kindness I've seen in quite a while This is part of a pay-it-forward that I'm sure someday someone will be more than willing to help you out with something. and just how far is it from Canton,Ohio to your place? I may have to drive over when MoAv's coming and take you,Lu,MoAv and Paul to dinner.
Sorry Peggy, but I had to laugh when I saw those pics. You hit in the EXACT same place as I did. The metal bumper only sells as one piece, so I have lots of 'pieces' of bumper stored in the attic of our garage. Along with the original plastic skin that goes over it. Once I got the skin off the metal bumper, it looked ok, except for the small scuff from the pole. Gene made me keep the fender skin on the truck, as a 'reminder' of what I did. I can see the divit in the cup holder area every time I walk past it. But it's not noticible unless you know where to look. My bumper and skin cost right at $1000 from the dealer. Gene and I fixed it within 4 hours of backing into the light pole. My kids came home from school asking what I was doing to the truck now. When I told them I hit a pole, they quickly scurried off to the house......they know Mom's attitude when I mess up my truck! Anyhow, enjoy the 'Fix It' GTG. Next time 'heaven forbid' that I hit something, I'll let you know, so you don't do it too!
orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I just made a call and all of your parts are in, I haven't asked yet but if Butch is willing to take them to Bratfest with him...............your call. Let me know.Didit
Butch your in luck, they won't fit in without the midgate down and I would not expect you to go that far with your back side down, hahaha sooooo Peggy when ya comin to Indy?Didit
Sorry the delivery didn't work out Peggy.Butch
Even if you could get the parts there, I don't think she could get them home with that new speaker setup she's got.
