Flowmaster S40 Still Available????
« on: July 24, 2008, 07:45:45 AM »
Hello all!!!!
I've been getting a few quotes to have catback exhaust put on the Ole girl, I want to go with the Flowmaster S40 muffler but one of the shops said the S40 was no longer available.  The best of the 3 or 4 quotes I received was $406.  These are aluminized custom (crush) bent pipes with stainless tips.  I checked the Flowmaster site and they still show the S40 so I assume it is still available?  I want a nice rumble and everything I've read people say go with the S40!

Suggestions??
Thanks, FH

I bought my Gibson Dual Extreme aluminized system for $345 back in 2003. I installed it in the garage; I've been pretty happy with it other than the soft stainless tips that rock chip too easily.

I don't know how they are any more, but I had Compare Muffler put a system on my 94 Sonoma and they did good work. They are off the Cave Springs exit in a strip mall back behind Harbour Freight.

Hey Joe,
I forget the name of the exhaust shop but it's in the same strip close to the window tinting place (close to Target).  The exhaust shop is on the end (left) when your looking at the strip.  I've had 3 or 4 quotes and they were all pretty close in price but this shop was the cheapest.  I couldn't find a shop that did mandrel bending only crush but I guess the price would have been a bunch more.  I was going to do the Summit Flowmaster kit but it was $530.?? and I would still have to put it on.  banghead1

You won't be disappointed.  The AV I just bought had a 50 series on it and waaayyy too quiet!  I took it to the muffler shop and had them cut it off and install a 40 series and it sounds much better.
