Topic: Changed my DRL's to BLINKER / PARKING Light Clones

I changed the DRL plug to accommodate 3 wires needed to make a parking / blinker.

Pulled out the DRL's and installed the new plug with the 3 wires tap-ed into the stock Parking lights.

Now I have 2 Blinkers per side.   all 4 flash with hazards.

You could do this mod also so you have a full turn signal using the whole housing.  :thumb:

OOOOOhhhhh! 

Sorry didn't take any pix along the way.  I used a couple "salvaged" turn signal plugs from a donor truck.  and just "wire tapped" the OEM wires. 

Kinda simple actually.   The only problem I had was the Donor plugs were not exactly the same locking scheme as my DRL's so I just cut one of the tabs off.

I have to leave something a mystery or everyone will be doing it.

You might actually be able to do it with the stock plugs, I did a similar mod to the tail lights of the camaro and was able to re-use the same plugs.  I'll have to look under the AV and get back to you guys on that.  Unless you can post a pic of the original AV plugs BN.

The OEM plug is not "pinned" for 3 wires. 

If you were able to get the exact pin or internal contact, then install it.  You could make it work.

The donor plug was already pinned for 3 leads with wires attached.  ( same colors as the OEM blinker / parking light believe it or not. )

Its good to have a brother at a dealership Bodyshop.   ;D
