Need Tire Advice***They're On********
« on: June 20, 2008, 06:15:41 PM »
I just ordered some Helo Maxx 6's for Gina for our anniversary tomorrow. I know a corny anniversary present but that's the way I am. Anyway, should I put the whiteletters out or in? Anyone with any pics of such setups would be great. Not necessarily Helos but with white letters in and out.

Here is a pic of the wheel.

I know the pic sucks but it was pouring down rain. I'll get a better one later. I think they look pretty good on it.

This may be my last day of posting, this was an anniversary present for Gina and she doesn't know it yet. I told her I had to take it to work to change the oil.

Thanks Mo. I think both ways looks good. Do you have a pic of it with outlined white letter? I guess I should say can you make one? LOL

Yep...I like those Helo's.     I think they would look good with the letters inside.   If you where to add a lift kit, then the letters outside.

Actually 17x8's, I can't afford tires and wheels.

That's a junction about 20 miles south of Sedalia. We had to find it in a motorcycle club scavenger hunt one time. There are actually 3 junctions of F & U in Missouri.

We have "NUT" junction over here - Three way junction of "N", "U", & "T"...fitting for here  2funny

Thanks Mo. You made the letters in or out a lot harder for me now dangit. Maybe I can get them to do one each way and let me see them on the Av. All the Avs on the other site have either the letters in so really nothing over there to compare them too.

My Av is pretty much the first vehicle that I didn't have white lettering on.  Except my Lincoln - it had whitewalls.  I like the sport look of the lettering, but just not sure on the Av.  Plus that's a lot of extra work keeping those things white...I think I'm getting lazy  buck2

Thanks Mo I saw that. I'm just going to have to make them put one of each on for comparison.

And NO once again I can't afford wheels and tires. And don't give Gina any ideas.

these are my 20th anniversary gift to her. so if I'm not here after next Thursday you'll know why. at least it's a better gift than a vacuum cleaner.

IMO, always go with black walls when you get aftermarket wheels that way the white letters don't take away from the main focal point of the wheels. I even turned mine in on my stock wheels means the tire companys are not paying to advertise for them. This just my  2cents

No not yet. I'll have them put on Thursday and just bring it home and park it. I never tell her when I do things, I just do them and wait for her to figure it out.

The remote start was on for about a month before I told her.

Actually another summer set - someone  didn't put her winter wheels on, and the shiny chrome ones show the results...some pitting starting and one rough spot... banghead1

Veterans day is usually pretty safe in southern Indiana.  If I were planning to drive up to Chicago which I have been doing for work occasionally these days, I would try to get them on by Halloween.  Since I have a work holiday on veterans day, it makes doing it then a good time if the weather is nice that day.  If not, I shoot for the following weekend.

Since my non-winter tires have a Tire Rack snow and ice rating of "Non-Applicable", I'm more motivated to get the stock wheels with M&S tires back on before the winter weather hits.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

I just ordered some Helo Maxx 6's for Gina for our anniversary tomorrow. I know a corny anniversary present but that's the way I am. Anyway, should I put the whiteletters out or in?

Congrats, 20 years ? I prefer letters in but then I have black AR mojave teflon wheels.

There is no such thing as a corny anniversary present, forgetting your anniversary would be inexcusable. Ours was 21 years yesterday and I left work early as a surprise and brought her home three bags of olde fashion licorice ! Wendy loves her '94 S10 Chevy truck, I could have just bought her something for her truck or new underwear and she'd be happy.  2funny

btw- nice wheels and keep on modding

Thanks all.

No she didn't notice at first. I had to make up an excuse for her to come up to Lowes and switch out vehicles. The kids knew about it so they came with her. It took my son saying something about how clean the wheels looked for her to even notice. At first she was pissed saying we can't afford it, I said too late they are used now and they won't take them back. I said fine if you don't think so, I'll put them on my truck. Needless to say, they are still on her Av.
