Both are cowl induction Goodmark hoods although I could make mine true ram-air with some work.

I just liked the lines on the ram air better I like the other one too. I like blue better than red too.

Don't forget that you need to budget in painting for the hood.  I think I paid around $500 to get mine painted, which is the same type as Flint's.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

I do like the looks of the ram air - what do you mean by "true ram-air" ?

I need to paint my hood now - someone keyed it.  THe shop said $500 for paint, so I figured I just get the new hood and paint only once...

True ram-air would mean rather than the faux black plastic plate on my "scoop" I had a screen and a duct straight to my air cleaner. I've been thinking about ways to that but it needs to be done right.

I think I got my hood painted $300 cash, not sure I could get it done that price today.

A 'true ram air' has an opening in the hood that directs air into your air intake.  The hoods like Flint and I have are not 'open'.  The 'grill' is a piece of plastic that is screwed into the metal.  The only functionality our hood has is letting engine heat escape easier out the back.  (towards the windshield)  And that only works if you don't have the insulation put in.  Goodmarks do bolt right on with little to no adjustments needed.  They don't come with the insulation installed.  Will have to take it off your stock hood, or buy new, or leave it off.  It will come in primer and with dents from shipping.  Hopefully they won't be very bad, I was lucky.  Paint and dent removal for mine was $500.00  You will have to check with Goodmark if you want a hood like mine.  I bought one of the last six they had for our cladded trucks.  Last I looked, they don't even advertise it on their web-site anymore, but I read on CAFNA where someone local called them and they had a couple left.  That was sometime last year.  They do still make the ones like Blue's.  If you want more info on a true ram, talk to meyescndfvrtluv, his is a functional ram air.

Can't wait to see what you have in mind next for your truck.  So far you've done just about everything I want to do with mine, I laugh to myself evertime I see your next mods.....except for your chrome, it's funny how closely alike we think.  I'm just too cheap to actually do it!

liteft01, sorry to hear about your experience with Goodmark and shipping. I got two of the first cladded hoods delivered perfectly intact, no dents and primered ready to paint. We had to wait but we got them best price ever offered and they delivered free.

I could make mine true ram-air like I said but it would take me some work, there is not a kit to do so

Mine has been made into a functional ram air.  The 2nd generation fiberglass airbox for it is currently taking shape in the garage.   :cheesy1:

So if I understand it right, there is no "kit" to connect the ram air to the Filter box?  You have to make one?  banghead1

There isn't a kit that I know of for the Goodmark steel hood.  There is, or at least was, for one of the fiberglass hoods on the market.

I was forced to mig-weld at high speed on the assembly line for a few months, I was exceptionally talented at it. It's an art like drawing and I have a gift, I also have a serious lazy bone. I hope to retire one of these days/years, I could fabricate an air box for my hood but I just took up fishing  :dans2:
