This pic shows the letters a little better. Man, they glow when the sun hits them. Camera just can't pic up how it really looks...

That's what I was thinking too... I'll get the paint tomorrow & finish it off. Did the Fuse box cover too. Amazing how a little color dresses up the engine compartment!! Now I need to wash it

Before you do that you should do the ribs also. That would look great.

Are your hoses blue covers or actually blue hoses? I found some red plastic covers stuff to put over everything, but I haven't used it yet. I think it's for covering wiring..

Not sure if it can be used over the other stuff.

Be very careful how you answer that...

I know fingernail polish isn't probably something normally used, but that stuff is really tough. And comes in every color imaginable for a whole lot less than paint. Not sure how it will hold up yet, but thought I'd give it a try

I can just image MoAV in walmart looking in the Beauty isle with 4 or 5 other females looking for a good nail polish color! hahaha

Hi Anna!!

I used a plastic paint from Home Depot. It's a specialty paint made just for plastic - I'm hoping it hold up under the hood. We'll see. I threw the can away, so I don't have the brand - but in the spray can section look for the cans that say "Plastic paint" on them. It shows a picture of one of those outdoor plastic chairs on it. I figured if it's made for those, and they sit in the sun all the time - it should work on the engine cover.

... I did about 5 coats of paint and the color is almost a perfect match for our Av's!!

The Krylon Fusion paint works great on Plastic. I used it on the bumpers of my PT Cruiser and they turned out awesome. The paint held up very well.

I've used that paint on some old lawn chairs. Never thought about using it on the engine plastic. I'd have to practice on something else first.....somehow I ALWAYS end up with runs. Maybe those chairs need another couple of coats....of red

It worked really well, no runs/drips etc. I did do light coats though. My only concern is the heat under in the engine compartment - I don't know how it will hold up to that. I've had others tell me to use High heat paint, but it didn't come in my color

I used the paint for plastic on my engine cover and fuse box on both my 07 and 02 and had no problems with the heat. I think it was the Krylon Fusion, can't remember for sure, but I did get it at HD, so I imagine that is what it was...

Hey MO I here you got a sport red metallic av too, what kind of paint did you use on the engine bay? I am looking to paint mine, but I want a paint that will last.
