Topic: Electrical question

I need to ask a couple questions BEFORE I try something...You all know by now that I'm an electrical idjit...so.  with that said, here's my questions.

I bought this fuse block:



I'm installing some lights and here are my questions:

What kind of wire do you use to run from the battery to this block?
How do you know what size fuse you need?
Can more than one thing be connected to an output?
If I want to add a switch, what kind of switch? (Looking at AutoZone, they say different things on the switchs... )
The switch goes in line between the  fuse box & the light?
Why am I even trying this????     

Any help is appreciated before I melt down my Av...

I'm adding interior/exterior lights, and since I don't want to cut into the actual truck wires, I got this fuse block. Rumor has it that by using this, you can just hook everything up to it instead of having a mess of wires at the battery.  There will be (I hope)16 led lights to hook up.  That's why I wanted to know if you can put more than one thing on each outlet.  I've bought about a million miles of wires for hooking all this up, but want to make sure I'm doing this right.

Hey MoAv

If all you are installing is 16 leds you can get away 16 -18 gauge wire with a 15 amp fuse

I would use a 10 gauge wire from the battery to the block just in case you want to add something else.

You may consider a 30 amp inline fuse on the wire as close to the battery as possible I like to  use double sided 3m tape on put it on the side of the under hood fuse box

OK MS03, let me see if I have this right:

Battery --10g wire --- 30 amp fuse --- fuse box w/15amp fuses --- 16-18-g wire to lights..

Sound right?  Where to the switches go?  On the wire to the lights?  I want to be able to turn each "zone" on/off separately.  I'm thinking if I run the switch between the battery & fuse box, that will shut on/off the whole thing at one time, right?
