« on: March 07, 2008, 08:56:34 PM »
Ok, I now have the Bose lux amp and have room for more tweeters to be wired in. Let's here some ideas on Brands and WHY! thanks
also, put them between the doors on the pillars or above the back seats on the pillars.

I looked on ebay for escalade tweeters and came up with one aftermarket set. Maybe i need to look under denali. BTW, the tech that programmed mine for me told me the H/U was out of an 05 denali.

I'd like to surface mount them so I'd need something with a cover on it. There's a junk yard in Dover,Ohio that has some avy's in it. maybe I need to load up the toolbox and go "scrapping" LOL

MS03, where did you mount the rear set in yours?

There is a foam block in the rear pillar that I cut a hole in and epoxied it in. Took the dremmel and cut slots though the plastic cover then put a cover over that

It wasn't quite trimmed out yet when I took the picture, but you get the idea.

I bought the rear pillers out of a suburban took the out cut the grille out sanded the edges and glued them on super glue worked great.  Had to heat them up a bit to take the right shape.

I know I'm not going to explain this right, but I've got my tweeters in the pillar between the doors.  My stereo guy explained  that if you put them back by the subs, the sound from both travels to your ears at about the same rate & the subs will cancel out the tweeters.  By putting them in the pillars between the doors, the softer high tones are not lost because it's closer to your ear.   :dunno:  All I know is mine sounds great - expecially if I get into a classical mode.. And if I really get them thumpin', I can still hear the higher notes - not just the boom boom... :dans2:

So it's either a good sound choice, or it was easier to intall there..
