I am not 100% sure, but I do not think that they will.  I never took mine off to see if it was different, because I was told not to due to the assist thingy already built into the new gates...

Dang.   I was hoping they would fit.  I like the clean looking 07 tailgate instead of 04 "chevrolet" molded on it.

Would they make some kind of a replacement skin for the tailgate Blue?  I don't know how that would work,or if you can even replace the outer skin by itself, but maybe just the outer layer would fit instead of the whole tailgate??

I read somewhere that someone "shaved" the letters off. This could be an option.

I am pretty sure that there is a MI member put an EXT tailgate on an Av... one way to avoid the Chevy letters

Older EXT tailgate fits but the lines dont line up with the taillights.


I think im having the domed letters shaved off whenever i send the running boards to the shop for paint.

I wasn't fond of the domed letters on the tailgate at first myself, but then I found the domed letter decals and that changed my mind!!

I wouldn't mind getting rid of the raised lettering and maybe putting the outlind lettering on the tailgate just for something different.
