Topic: Goodmark Hood at Body Shop

OK. NOw im ready to purchase a new hood for my baby but id like to know your opinion on which one. I chosed Goodmark Hoods cuz for one,there steel and is a GM part.

Have you checked out the Reflexxion Cowl Induction Hood?  I like it a little better then the Goodmark hood but it only comes for WBH . . . Think they are located in Memphis

Dont get me wrong. I like them too but the price kills me. Im not willing to pay over $600 for it and thats not including paint.

I think the theme im looking for is more solid to look at in the front end. This beast will look pretty mean when im done :thumb:

And if your plan is to re-do those flame-stripes you had on the hood the cowl would be better then the Ram-Air Style one.

Right on! The flame job would be Ghost Silver.Starting from the nose and moving towards the front fenders and ending on the front doors below the door handles. :thumb:

One of my friends at work paints stuff in his garage and we completely painted my work Cavalier in a weekend.  2 days, complete sanding, primer, dent removal, base and clear coat with custom rally stripes.

I'd bet someone could shoot a ready to go hood pretty quickly.

regardless, your truck looks great with the hood you got now.

It wouldn't rust that quick.  They will have to sand the primer anyway.  If you want to put it on, go for it.

    my painter is a friend of mine.  He works for a bodyshop and does side jobs at home.

Bummer.  That's like knowing that there's a package under the tree but you can't have it.  If it makes you feel any better, I ordered and paid for my hood 6 months before I got it (the original group buy).

I remember that group buy.  I missed out on it.  I think Flint4x4 got his too on that GB.

I also stayed in the original GB.  I think the price was $350 BUT I paid for mine 6 months before I actually got it  :-\
 The best deal was the shipping.  We got free shipping as long as there were at least 2 shipped  together.  I had 4 come to my office.

I didnt know that.  My painter showed up to my house to compare which tone matches my truck better.  Good thing he noticed that when picking up the paint at the supply store. I wouldnt want my Av with a lighter tone on the hood.

Anywho... it should be ready this week.

It's no big deal, I did pay $300 to get my new hood painted and it's a fair photo.
