INDY 500 Museum Feb 23, 2008 Pics added! (page 2)
« on: February 14, 2008, 05:25:13 PM »
                     The Indianapolis 500                  Museum

February 23, 2008

We'll meet in the parking lot at the Museum at 11am or before, take a tour of the 500 museum and browse the gift shop, cost to the museum is 3.00 and then take a trip around the track in a tour bus, cost for this is 3.00 as well, (weather permitting) you can find more information on the history of the 500 and the museum itself and directions here

http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/museum/

please allow at least a couple hours for the museum tour, bring your camera's as there will plenty of photo ops, you can have your picture taken sitting in a race car , or have them take it for you, cost is 5 bucks I think, if you have them do it.  There is a twenty minute film to be seen, on the history of the track, some race clips etc included in this.

Afterwards we will "cruise" north to 38th St to TGI Fridays for lunch, right now they are having a three course dinner special at discounted prices, the food at TGI Fridays is pretty tasty, you can find out more about them here   http://www.fridays.com  Sound like fun and informative, sign up right here!  Hope to see you there!

Due to varying circumstances with peoples lives, not as many showed as was hoped for, HOWEVER three groups did and we had a grand time.  The history of the cars is absolutely astonishing, to see what they have accomplished over the years is mind boggling to say the least.

The first pic being the Museum itself!  Then well of course we had to park AV's in front of the place to shine it up a bit, add a little class to the building so to say, hehe

Then we have Main One talking with a friend of mine in the parking lot, this friend named Selmer Heller, lol, well I worked with him for some 15 years then he retired and went to work for the Motor Speedway driving the tour bus around the track, ON NICE DAYS, lol.  Unfortunately there were no busses running today because of snow and ice on the track, but he came out on his day off and walked around with us in the museum,

Then we have the precursor to the AV, you gotta know they had the AV in mind when they built this!

also I might add, that each and every automobile in this museum, with a minimum of prep time is able to function and drive, quite amazing

Butch, it was strange having an Indiana gtg without you.  You two take good care of yourselves so that you can make the next one!

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

Looks like it was fun.  Wish I had been there but I was boat shopping.

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.

Yea, I may have found the boat for me.  It's pretty pricey but DANG nice.  More than likely, I'll own it by the end of next weekend.  If it works out, I'll post some pics of it.
