Stopped by a local Tire/Rim Shop yesterday to price some new rims/tires for the Av.  (I'm still in the dreaming stage here as I have yet to approve this purchase with "The Boss".  banghead1)  The salesman quoted me a price of $1550.00 which included Liftime Tire Rotation (every 6,000 miles), Road Hazard, etc., for 4 20" Gear Alloy Double Pumper Rims with Cooper Discoverer HT Plus Tires (305/50/20).  The salesman told me that the 305's would fit under my stock Av with no problem, but I'm kind of hestitant of jumping up to a tire that wide.  Wouldn't a 305 stick out past the stock fenders?  :dunno:  Let me know what you guys think of the price on this package deal.  I'm sure if I went with a narrower tire, say a 275/50/20 or a 285/50/20 that the price of the package would drop a little bit too!!  A picture of the rim and tire are below.

Man!   Nice rims

I ride 285/50/20 and the tire itself sit flush with the fender.  It rubs only on reverse when cranking the sterring wheel. Maybe because the AV is lowered.

The 305's are much wider and chances are it will rub.

  Those are great looking wheels!!!  I love the black/silver look.  I have 285/50/20's on my Av and have no rubbing issues at all.  I haven't heard them hit no matter how far I crank the wheel.  Good luck on convincing the other half... 2funny

The price is not bad either.  Thats a steal if you ask me.   I paid $1,800 for my setup 2 years ago.

Also keep in mind that some 305 and 285 tend to pull left or right while driving.  It depends on the tire brand and pattern.  My goodyear eagle II sucks on that matter. They pick up every single pebble from the street and the tick sound begins.

He's so right.  When I first got my new tires, they weren't balanced right and I would get very sore muscles from fighting that thing on a long drive.  Especially on back roads that have the grooves worn in them.  Balance is VERY important I've found in these larger wheels/tires.  Mine are good at picking up rocks/gravel.  Love my cladding
