Feb GTG at the IMS Museum Indiana
« on: January 15, 2008, 09:50:55 PM »
The Indianapolis 500             Museum

February 9, 2008

We'll meet in the parking lot at the Museum at 11am or before, take a tour of the 500 museum and browse the gift shop, cost to the museum is 3.00 and then take a trip around the track in a tour bus, cost for this is 3.00 as well, (weather permitting) you can find more information on the history of the 500 and the museum itself and directions here

http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/museum/

please allow at least a couple hours for the museum tour, bring your camera's as there will plenty of photo ops, you can have your picture taken sitting in a race car , or have them take it for you, cost is 5 bucks I think, if you have them do it.  There is a twenty minute film to be seen, on the history of the track, some race clips etc included in this.

Afterwards we will "cruise" north to 38th St to TGI Fridays for lunch, right now they are having a three course dinner special at discounted prices, the food at TGI Fridays is pretty tasty, you can find out more about them here   http://www.fridays.com  Sound like fun and informative, sign up right here!  Hope to see you there!

I copied this over to the Ohio site. maybe we can get some more. I'm up in the air right now. I'd need 2 hotel rooms for an overnighter. It's 5 hours one way for me and I don't wanna drive 10 hours in one day with 3 teenagers in the truck.

This sounds like a GREAT Gtg - you just need to move it about 200 miles closer....

400 miles in one day is doable, we've done it several times going to Michigan for GTG's

Unfortunately I  work from 3am to  11am on Saturdays, and that's  when you are all meeting.  If I get on the road by noon -373+miles, I'd be there at 7pm or so - just in time to go to bed & get up to leave on sunday.   banghead1  I'll have to see if I can get of work, but I don't see that happening.  Their not happy with me right now since I've been missing work taking my daughter to Dr. appts/hospital stays.  Work can sure get in the way of having fun... :tickedoff:
