Big O Tires
« on: January 06, 2008, 11:00:35 PM »
Has anyone tried any of the Big O Tires before?   I'm looking into purchasing a new set of tires come spring and was wondering about these. Here is what they look like.

Ran 'em on our old Silverado. They were okay but we went back to the Bridgestone duelers and now have the Goodyear Wranglers on the factory rims. The life of the Big O's wasn't what the others have. They did give a really quiet ride on the highway though.

were the Bridgestone's the Revo's and if so why did you go back to the goodyears? I'm gonna need some treads maybe this summer and and debating on which ones to get.

I ran the HT's to avoid the clunky ride of the Revo AT's. The Goodyears have a longer life and are quieter.

Which Goodyears do you have on the stock wheels? I have the Wranglers AT/S on my summer wheels and they are pretty noisy. I'm wanting a much quieter tire when spring comes. This new tire Big O has is supposed to be a 50k tire with very low noise.

Mine are the HT's. The all terain are noisy. Kind of like driving a mudder down the highway and they seem to give an excessive amount of feedback to the wheel for a pavement queen.
Bob probably wouldn't notice after the monsters that he has on his truck but I am kind of finicky about that stuff.

Now this may get interesting....My wife just started a new job at an advertising agency. One of their accounts is Toyo. Wonder if I can get any kind of discount and if they have anything I'll like.. Any feedback on Toyo's ??

Never ran 'em myself but people that come to the shop seem to like them.

My '07 came with the 275/55/20 Dueller HL Alenza, and I have to admit, it's been a pretty good tire so far (13K). It's a 65k tire, so it's relatively firm, but it rides great, is pretty quiet, and surprisingly good in the rain & snow.
As for Toyo, I haven't had an opportunity to run them yet, but they are considered one of the best when it comes to sport trucks/SUV's.

The local power company (referred to by us bellboys as the Buckey Weenies) have these put on their fleet trucks and like the results. $136 each out the door for the P metric.

My brother-in-law had a set of the Big-O mud tires on his old truck and he liked them.
