I think it is pricey. From the looks of it, I'd say it has quite a few miles on it.

Im not savvy to exhaust systems but if that setup really goes for $700-$800 new.....i buy that used one if im the only bidder. I wouldnt pay anymore for it.

Also....i paid $375 for my Flowmaster 40,dual pipes, tips, new & installed.   Just a thought.

Tell me more about this one BD, was this at a national chain or a private shop?  I thought that a new performance exhuast was gonna cost an arm, a leg and a teenager's meal allowance for 2 months. this is sounding doable.

Reason that Corsa is pricey....simply beacuse the pipes are stainless steel.  Big fkn deal.

Flowmaster filters run under a $100 at any muff shop. I think i paid $75 for it.    Tips where $100ea (stainless steel) and labor was 'bout another $100 i dont remember.  Now-a-days they want to sell you these stainless pipes ( if you plan to keep the vehicle for ever).

and the pipes are just regular pipes.  Yes they rust.

...and it was done at a nobody muff shop.

OBB - I got the FM 50 SUV put on a couple months ago.  If i add the price of the tip I just had put on, the whole thing was about $200 including installation.  I didn't go catback tho - just from in front of the old muffler & he had to make a pipe for it going out the back.  Local shop here.

Like Peggy said....all you need id the filter and pipes out the back.   Unless you want catback which i dont care for it myself.

...also if you want dual pipes behind the wheels,good luck with that as some shops may deny the work.  Simply because above the rear driver wheel,there the presence of fuel lines.

I was denied 3 times and the last shop i visited did it without questions.

man Mick, I think the back of your truck looked good before you did all the modding looks great now.  btw, i just saw some tips on ebay for less than $50 for stainless. as always, when you want the new stuff 1st, you pay the price.   kinda like getting that 1st flatscreen tv a few years ago.

Nope. Never seen one in my town yet.....but i did kicked some TrailBlazer SS ass a week ago.

Peggy, have you noticed and difference in the power or mileage or is it all in the sound?

Power?     I don't know if the exhaust set up made a difference, or if my Av is just re-learning my new driving habits of a little heavier foot on the take off (to hear that sweet growl!!).  So I can't really tell you.  I DO know that I don't average my mileage because I don't want to know.  If I knew for a fact that my AV is only getting 14-15 mpg I would stay home more.  Soooo, being the ostrich type on gas mileage, I don't write it down, or figure it out.  Silly huh?   

The biggest difference I see (hear) between the FM 40 & FM 50 SUV is the sound.  the 50 has a nice sweet growl to it, with almost no sound in the cab when your driving freeway speed.  Just a little bit.  Plus when you rev it up, the 40 "pops" back down.  Not sure how else to describe it - but the 50 doesn't.  I wish I knew how to put a sound clip on here, but I don't....

Thanks all. I talked to my little brother tonight. He's got a 40 on his 95 tahoe and it's too loud inside for my liking. I'll have to check on a 50.

I put the 40 on ours earlier this year and really like it. It is a little loud when you first get on it but at cruising speed it is not bad at all. I brought the tips out right behind the passenger wheel and like the looks alot. I'm thinking the price was right around $300 for the FM 40 catback system and the tips he put on are Magnaflows.

another thought just came to mind, My 99 subrbus (yes bus, it was a 9 passenger) had a stainless exhuast on it. Does anyone know if the AVY's come with stainless pipes?

Now that you mention it, I think they are.

Lets not confuse galvanized or whatever these pipes are but im almost positive there not stainless from factory.  They rust ya know.

the ones on the bus cracked from heat between the manifold and the cat. I had a local shop patch it. He said it was stainless but then again he only had a couple of good teeth. LOL
