Hey guys... I've got an '07 Av, just wondering if you all trust the oil life sensor on the vehicle. How many miles should I safely be able to go between changes on Mobil1? I've put over 6K on and sensor still shows 30% life left. I've read a lot of stuff on the internet about synthetics being able to go 7500 to 10000 miles between changes, but I don't see that specifically stated on Mobil's website. Opinions, anyone?

First, welcome to the club, ratdaddy.

I use the oil life monitor on all of my cars today. I strictly use full synthetic oil and in the case of my 2002 Av, the "change engine oil" light typically comes on somewhere between 6500-7500 miles. I trust it as long as I'm running synthetic. I wouldn't go over 5k on dino oil but that's just me; I've adhered to 3k oil change intervals in the past but after doing a lot of research I decided it was time to start using the technology that was on the vehicle.

I change mine at 3k and use Mobile1 based on the instructions that came with the supercharger.  If it weren't for the supercharger, I would go off of the oil life monitor.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.

I let the oil life monitor tell me as well.  I go about 6000 miles or so.

I've always used the oil life monitor.  Put Mobile1 in at the first oil change, Royal Purple the next, and about 10 changes with Redline since then.  Got 141,000 miles on the motor.  I usually get prompted to change the oil at about 8K to 10k miles.  Seems like it doesn't last as long during cold weather.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

Thanks guys... just making sure I wasn't crazy for waiting 7-8k for an oil change with Mobil1 synthetic.

You're not crazy for waiting that long.  I follow the DIC Oil Life Meter as well and have been averaging about 7,000+ between oil changes using Full Synthetic Oil only!!

I go by my meter also - it comes up about every 7000+/-  miles.  Have had to change it twice since august.  Sigh.
