New camshaft, springs, push rods, and Efans are in!
« on: October 19, 2007, 10:45:45 AM »
Main One has talked me into it (Sorry Greg, I gota blame someone)

I just got off the phone with Lingenfelter Performance where I place a order for a cam, valve springs, hardened push rods, a crank bolt, crank, seal, water pump gasket, timing cover gasketm and extra valve spring retainer keepers.

I ended up going with a Comp cam rather than one of the Lingenfelter designs.

The reason that I ordered it from Lingenfelter was that they were the only place that I could get all of the parts that I needed.  I may could have saved a couple of bucks buy getting things from several different places.  The total was right at $550

Actually the total came to $586.36 from Lingenfelter.  I just picked up the stuff to change the oil after the cam swap at NAPA, another $60 and a couple of minor things that I was out of in the garage like anti-seize and dielectric grease for a few bucks more.  I also ordered a new set of spark plugs for $16.  I'll get them tomorrow.

Main One already has the specialty tools that we need, so the total for the job should be around $700 plus all of the beer that Main One wants for the weekend.  Then I get to start tuning on it.
