Pillar Gauges

I was just thinking....you know us with 1500,dont have a tranny gauge.Is it possible to install a tranny temp gauge to the drivers side pillar instead of replacing the dash gauges?Ive been wanting to do this with a triple gauge. 1 for temp and the other twos as dummies for now.


I have yet another mod to do and is the tranny cooler.

I know but im looking to add a blower in the near future.Having the 3 gauge pod,is something i dont have to worry later.But for now i have one working gauge and that is tranny temp :thumb:

I would think that since the wiring is in the harness for the tranny temp gauge that all you would need to do is find that wire, tap into it then run it where you need it.

As far as tapping into the trans temp wire, I don't see that would be a big deal but does the factory sender have the calibration that's required for a aftermarket gauge?  I have no idea.

Anyone ever follow up with this? What color is the tranny temp wire in the harness? I am getting ready to install a pillar pod and some gauges.

Guess I could pull out the manuals and at least get a wire color... but if I were a betting man, I would think it is the same as most other gauges in the cluster and recieves its info from the PCM via the class 2 data bus... If so you are screwed.......
