decals for cladding

I've seen the decals for the cladding. Has anyone had any bad luck at car washes and such? Also, I wonder if i can paint the cladding lettering so that way i can do a little more custom color.

I got a set of "chrome" look decals for the avalanche on the cladding and the chevrolet on the tailgate a few weeks ago.  They were really thin and I was worried about them staying on, but my installer said the thinner, the better.  They have held up really well so far-nothing peeling up and I have used the touchless car wash on my AV a bunch of times.  I don't know about painting them although I've heard of other doing so...

Some have used "Testors" paint on the Avalanche lettering on the doors....

....i purchased the stainless steel for the "Avalanche" in the tail gate. It held very good for 2 yrs until i removed it to get the tailgate painted.

I originally installed the thin vinyl Avalanche lettering on the doors and tailgate but it didn't hold up at all. I then bought the "domed" decals (Avalanche and Chevrolet) and they have been on the truck for about 4 years now with no issues.
