Topic: 2013 Black Diamond - Are they in production?

Are the Black Diamonds in production.  All I can find are the 2012's at chevy.com and other related sites.  My local dealer said he had a Black Diamond come in.  I went and looked at it.  It seemed to be a 2012 LS with a Black Diamond medallion.  I told him I wanted a full boat LTZ - 2013 Black Diamond edition.

He couldn't locate one already made.  When he went on his intranet, he couldn't find a 2013 build site.  He tried to convince me that he could get what I wanted using the 2012 build site.  I told him I'd come back in September to check in.

UPDATE from yesterday.  Thanks all for your replies so far.  I did some checking and all sources indicate that all the 13s will be Black Diamonds.  Early ads promoted special grills and other features but, like I said above, I saw and LS BD that looked like a 12 with a Black Diamond medallion where the LS would normally be.  I'm going to wait a month and check to see if they have the 13 build site up yet.


ANOTHER UPDATE (August 8, 2012): Here's a few quotes I found:

They're hitting the streets. A member posted that he has seen a blue one on the back of a transporter recently.

According to the 2013 Avalanche brochure I saw last Saturday.  You can only get blue on the LS.  I might be mistaken but I thought only LTZ's were getting the Black Diamond medallion.

All 2013 will have the Black Diamond designation.   If you look on ebay there are a few out already.  I have not been able to find a build site either.

2013's are out there .... look like they all will black diamonds if they are a 2013 .

I saw one on a transporter (the blue one).... then one at a dealer in NC ... was an LT ... black ... and they had a White diamond one on order but was not in yet ....

then over the w/e my dealer had an LT .. black ....

and here is another tid bit of information .... the coffee table book ... what a f'n joke that is .... was at my dealer Sat getting ANOTHER door handle replaced (that makes 4 now) .... was in the part department having them look up info on the book .... ask a service advisor - what book? .... ask a salesman - what book? Oh that must be an GM accessory .... Parts guy - must be something from GM puiblications .... you will not get a part # to order it thru parts ....   after having him check out this site ... http://myblackdiamondavalanche.com/Account/Logon

you have to have the dealer code ... get a gm employee to then login and then have a valid VIN to order a book .... wow ... guess I should have bid on a book ... $300 is a lot cheaper than spending 45k on it .... 

way to go GM ... no one has a clue about the book ... guess you are going to have a few extra at the end of the model year .....

As John said the13's are out there. A close friend/member came back into the fold after a few years by buying one about a week or so ago.
They also had to ask about the book after the fact to get one on order.
