Added blue led puddle lights and what a difference!!!
« on: October 01, 2007, 08:02:52 PM »
Sorry guys, bad phone pic and dirty truck , just rained yesterday.  Ordered these from superbrightleds.com I think Thursday and received today.  Pretty quick shipping since I didn't expect them until later this week.  Anyway, they were about 3 bucks each but very worth it.  Now I gotta change out the other blue lights I put in on the courtesy lights and under dash lights.  Very impressed so far.  These "pontoon" lights are part number 4410-b9 in case anyone wants to order some.  Oh and the pic like I said is very bad, but if you look to the right a bit you can just make out my stainless door handle.  Yea, they're that bright!!!  Also, attached is a pic of the el cheapo regular blue colored door light.  Yegh says I, you can just make out the blue hue coming off.  ;)  Oh well, you know the saying, gotta mod the mod.  :evil5:

Yea, before I wasn't very impressed with leds but man have they gotten bright as of late.   OK Blue, now's your turn.  hehe.   I even got  the lights that go on the rear bed but I  think I need to take off the snugtop to get access.  OH well, need to work on a switch for the lights anyway.

Ummmmm very carefully :) sorry but that's all the advice i can give on those were kinda a pain to remove.  Just pop off the clear plastic cover, and try to pull the bulb straight out, the bulb holds the chrome reflector in so don't think u broke something when it comes out with it.

Me too.

I know you do Bob, friend of mine with an 03 AV doesn't have them. Guess they became an option

My 06 has puddle lights  ;D  but I cheated, I replaced my stock with 04 power folding/turn signals.  If I could ever find pink or purple LEDS, I'd replace mine too.

On the top right hand side you see a little thing that says "quote" click on that and then type under it and you're good to go.  I forgot to tell you you'd like the puddles so much you'd end up getting the other interior lighting too.  Coulda saved you 5 bucks shipping so you coulda gotten them all at the same time.  I still need to order another 10 or 12 194 bulbs too.

You're gonna want the red all around after you put in the puddles so you might consider getting the 194's also at the same time.  superbrightleds is in Missouri so the shipping shouldn't take too long.   Remember, once you unclip the bottom of the puddle, pull down that  side to about a 45 degree angle and the other side push up a little so it comes out easier.

Well, I FINALLY remembered to look, and yes, I do have puddle lights-gonna order the bulbs (red) - p/n is 4410-b9 if I read the info right?

:macrocks:
4410 is the bulb size. b is for blue and 9 is the # of leds...If you want red...check your # closely

Thanks Ohiobellboy-I was looking at the web site last night and realized the b was for blue.  Glad to know that!  Not sure what I would have done with blue bulbs on my Sport Red AV!!   2funny

Yndio-the 194's are for the interior lights, right?  How many do I need? :dunno:

Thanks guys...

Word to the wise, if you choose to put in lights in the overhead light cubby, don't order the 9 or 12 led 194's since they'll be too wide and long.  Learned the hard way!!!!1 banghead1  No biggie though, just swapped those out with the under dash lights that were 4 leds and they fit perfect even with the little plastic reflector thingie.

Update on my question and a new pic of the cargo light.  Whoever has a snugtop or is thinking of getting one.  Please do yourself a favor and do the the cargo light switch and pin switch mod BEFORE you put the sucker on.  OK.  On to the question I had, I switch one of the under dash 4 led 194's with a 9 led 194 type led and that bad boy does NOT light up unless you open the door so someone's guess that there must still be some type of current is probably correct but not enough to light up a 9 led.

Not very bright cargo light in daylight but neither are the stockers.  Can't wait to take pics at night.  I had to take off the black skin and reattach before I put in the push pins to do this mod with my snugtop.  Very time consuming the first time.  Just now got started on the other side and did removal in about 5 minutes.  Just gotta have the cojones to do it.

very nice blue glow.  Also, what are those two eyes looking at me??  These small leds are very bright and should be bright enough to glow even a dark beverage.  Will test this theory out later.  Whaddya think??

I really liked it.   When you rearrange the lights in the cup holders to make them brighter they will really be rockin'!!  I'm MAJOR jealous of the bed-lights...dang I wish I knew how to do that stuff... banghead1

I'll have to talk to you later to find out how the whole process is done-didn't have time yesterday.  Thanks for meeting for dinner-your family is great!!!   And I have leftovers for dinner tonight!!! :clappinani:
