Sailpanels and Storage Lid Swap from EXT
« on: July 29, 2012, 08:03:45 PM »
I found a complete EXT kit and planning on pulling the trigger. I want to pick up some new clips figuring some are gonna break, if not all. Im not sure what they look like, how many I may need, or if I can find them somewhere other than a dealer. Im also wondering if the EXT 3rd brake light has the same connector as the Avy? Thanx for any help guys.

get the clips from this guy. I used over 100 on my whole truck when it was restored.

I think you're gonna need 2 bags of them for a total of 30 clips, That will leave you a few extra.

Thanx for the find!

Any ideas on where to find a breakdown for this at? I had the upper and lower bridge and 3rd brake light apart, but never the inner and outer sides of the sails.

I started a thread almost two years ago called "overspray on my cladding". It has some pix in it that might help. I'm still at work or id try to find them for ya.

Here's a couple. The little white dots are the clips.

Unfortunately too good to be true... The guy had a cracked LED brakelight, 1 outer sail panel, 1 inner sail panel (opposite side of course). He did have a full set for the avalanche in fair condition. Held off and rethinking my strategy.

For those that want to mix n match sets, I did find out that the outer sail panel for the ext does not match up to the inner avalanche sail panel. There is the gap between the sail panel and the third brake light surround. Also the triangles in the EXT sail panels are smaller than the avalanches. There is a 2" gap where the 2 pieces meet. I am at the point where I may buy a complete totalled out truck at auction, seems to be easier to find then just pieces. Seen a couple go for cheap. Anyone wanna go in?? All I want is the upper cladding, third brake light, tailgate, and storage lids. 2cents 2cents 2cents 2cents 2cents 2cents
