04 "rattling" over bumps
« on: April 03, 2012, 06:32:50 AM »
Original owner of an 04 with going on 99k.  For the longest time now, probably 40k, I can hear a very prominent rattling sound whenever I go over any kind of speed bump, pothole, whatever.  The sound like like some loose cargo shuffling from under the truck.  I've taken everything out of the rear side containers, all new shocks all around, complete new exhaust system at around 70k.  New rotors around 55k, fresh brake pads....  I've also made sure there's nothing under the seats loose that I know of.  Any suggestions for anything else to look for?  The truck seems to be fine, but this has just always been a constant nag.

edit - I've also had the intermediate steering column replaced too.

 :welcome:

Check your shocks and also the heat shield on the catalytic convertor.
