8-10 hour install, 8-10 years of progressive boost upgrades.....

To answer the power  question in detail, the stock non-intercooled Vortech will take a stock Av that dynos about 240 rwhp to 380rwhp. By buying a $60 pulley that can increase to 403 rwhp.....

Dyno sheets to back up that claim.....

Same truck smaller pulley.... all of this non-intercooled, no meth, stock motor with CAI and dual exhaust.....

notice the torque levels on both dynos.... the second sheet looks flatter because we only pulled a 3000 to 5800 rpm pull...

Also these were on crap performance shop tunes.....

BTW, I must warn that the smaller pulley will also require a set of 42# injectors and a Walbro 255 lph pump.... 8)

I'll add to that, don't waste money on a 3.25" pulley.  I did and it's only good for .5-1 psi of boost.  If you do it, go for the 3.12" but not on the supplied tune.

2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.

The kit for the '04 includes 42# injectors, doesn't it?

Mine did... but I bought directly from Vortech with their crap tuner..... :ass05:

Getting away from the stock kit very far will require the Walbro 255 lph pump, and going to that 3.12" pulley will almost require the 60# injectors on the 04 with a returnless fuel system.....

But before we spend all his money, let's get that thing installed first....... :)

Call Tony and tell him to get off his ass and clear the order..... :evil5:

They manually verify the part number against your model year prior to submitting the order to Vortech.... Your blower will leave Vortech and come straight to you.... When it leaves the Vortech loading dock they will notify him and he will turn around and send you tracking info... :thumb:

I think I was talking about yours.................... ::)

I was going to modify my post but you beat me to a reply. Seriously (I know, you can't believe it!) since you are making a lot of power I know you are more likely to stress and break things. I'm still running on the way-safe Magnuson tune so I shouldn't have issues, except maybe for the tranny (as I knock on wood big time  ;D).

I keep postponing finishing the build on the tranny and the 3.2" pulley and it looks like I'm going to postpone it some more. I've got the Civic now so at least I can leave the truck in the shop. However, I'm spending a lot of money for farm supplies (I'm currently working on the brake system on the tractor) and the upcoming elk hunt so I hate to add additional strain on the finances at this point.

Have you ever tried to brush hog, disc, and plant with ZERO brakes? That's what I did last Sunday! Every time I work on the tractor it's a snowball effect - you work on one part of the system and something else is revealed to have a problem also. The brake control valve assembly must be frozen so I'm going to have to take it off the tractor and rebuild it. It doesn't help that the farm is 142 miles from home and I'm doing the work on weekends (try to find tractor parts stores that are open on Sunday). Enough with the  :jacked:. Let's now return to the regularly scheduled portion of this thread!  8)

Hmmm.. I always new you were delusional, and that post just proved it.... I don't recall my truck ever stressing and breaking anything. I also don't recall my truck ever being broke.... much less being able to recall a single day that I have not been able to drive my "stressed, broken" truck to work.... Quite the opposite, most days my "stressed" truck is on the interstate heading out of town or coming back....

Wait... I remember there were those three days I could not drive my truck under any circumstance.... Yeah... back in February 2006... I remember now.... I faintly remember it being in the shop.... HAVING STAGE 2 HEADS, CAM, AND INJECTORS INSTALLED......

and I still say it "looked" faster than that POS you drive......

I seem to remember a fueling issue that kept it from running correctly........when you were working on the intercooler, I think. And then there's that wideband that's malfunctioning.

The "fueling issue" was a airflow coupling left loose on the blower by me when I installed the aftercooler.... No "stressed or broken" pieces there... and yes the wideband O2 sensor and the fuel gauge are currently malfuntioning and reading incorrectly... no "broken peices" brought on by undue stress there either..... Nothing there that prevents the truck from being driven on any day of the week...even when the coupling was loose....

I suggest if you are trying to stir sh!t here like you do at CAFNA then we can call it for what it is and get on with it.... otherwise go  :mod: yourself.......

BTW.. that might cost me a Karma point... can I spend another? I have two left............ 8)

I would rather not take anything to PM. I came over here with Mick because we decided that CAFNA would not be the best forum to assist with the centrifugal blower install due to just this BS. Seems it will be futile to expect people that stir this crap will not continue the BS over here. Isn't it funny that the same people will have no value or experience to add to a centrifugal build out and will stand ready to stir at a moments notice. This particular individual has a deep seated, needful habit that needs to "protect" people from my narrow minded thought process and is very vocal in the process. I guess he is enpowered by the security of a keyboard... I really don't know.... I usually find that trait in women, being needful and protective of the weak.

Of course, he did qualify his background..... he is out there breaking farm equipment.... that is where his actual experience is. Funny though, I thought a Midwest Avalanche was driven on the highway, not a corn field.....

Anyway, it would seem this might not work either Mick. Seems I continue to be the biggest turd in the sack who has no use beyond attracting flies, especially since a few people have nothing better to do beyond stirring the pile every chance they get.

If you run into trouble on that install, just email or call me. You have my number and email..... Good Luck
