Topic: Poor man's intake

I was wondering if connecting,say... using a 3" shop vac hose from the lower valance straight to the air box will be too much air for the AV to handle?

I was lurking in my garage and it hit me.  what if?

Any ideas?

Gee thanx Jeff     Nahhh....i picked these up a year ago and never got to it.  Today is somewhat raining and thought i'd mess around in the garage.

I think it looks good and don't see any reasn that it wont work.  :thumb:  Just keep en eye out for water getting on the filter when its driven in the rain.

I agree with Bob; it should get cooler air into the engine at speed and your IAT's should drop to close to ambient.

I've debated doing the same thing but was going to use 4" black drain pipe and a metal floor register. I wasn't sure the drain pipe would be flexible enough to work.

Another great low budget idea for me to kick around. 

What do you tell the wife when she needs to use the shopvac and the hose is missing. 

(    I don't know what happend to it.  It must have been the kids that lost it.  HeHe )

Hahaha  the shopvac adapter is mine and the blue hoses i found it at autozone in the ricer section..
