HID bulb slight ficker
« on: February 19, 2012, 06:14:40 PM »
Put an HID kit in my fogs a few days ago, and when I ordered the kit I already had a kit for the lows. I ordered new bulbs because the passenger flickered and to have the color match. I put everything it, wired and looking nice and shines like the sun! But the passenger side still flickers in the slightest bit. I mounted the ballasts under the hood on each side where the front quarter panel comes up, there is about an inch of depth which i mounted them there. When I closed the hood thought they were close and they are, nothing was affected, but the passenger (no clue why just that side) ballast got slightly dented on the ballast. Wondering if it is that that is making the bulb flicker???

X2,,,,might be a loose fuse in the inline fuse holder. Mine does that every now and then.

Intelligence on the fuse box isn't quite up to par,  :idiot2: haha but its constant. and its mostly the passenger side, because that ballast happens to be the most dented out of the two, and its the slightest dent. Connections are all tight I know that!  banghead1

Is there an inline fuse on the power wire going to that ballast?

That's odd, all 3 kits I got from them have fuses. oh well, back to the ballast theory. Try changing the ballast from right to left and see if the trouble follows the ballast.

It might, but nothing that I can find with the naked eye, unless I have to rip into anything. Makes sense tho, I'll try that!!!

Did the ballast swap earlier, Lined them on a wall to watch, and they didn't flicker at all but maybe one small one which I was fine with, few hours went by and coming back from the gym parking, i noticed they flicker again, back to square one  :needhug:
