WTB Traaaaaain Hooooooooorn!
« on: February 06, 2012, 10:38:24 PM »
anyone getting rid of their avy and parting their train horn? or anyone got one lying around? i'd like to get everything in one bundle(compressor, horns, tank, lines, fittings, etc...) if possible. also, i'd like to put my tank in one of the saddlebags so probably nothing larger than a 1.5gallon tank, depending on dimensions.

pm or reply to this thread would be the best ways to contact me. thanks! mason

There's a few others also posted about this. Ebay is one of the best places to shop and compare. Stick with one that has a Viair compressor.

I'd like to do this too Iv heard obb's and they a STUPID LOUD!!!!! I've raped through eBay and I have a hand full of kits on my watch list. Now is it the size and style of the horns that make it louder or is it the amount of air that passes through them? Is it bigger the horn the louder its?

200 dB will definitely be loud, deafening loud.

I'd think you'd want to be more in the 140 range.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......

mine supposedly are rated to 152db. I pegged a 140db meter I borrowed from work in nothing flat. That was placed about 6' from my horns.

You may want to also pay attention to the notes of the horns.
There are certain chord associated with different trains.

Best quality on the market hands down. Mines' been in almost 4 years now without a problem and it's exposed to the elements of Northern Ohio where I live. I don't think they make the tanks, just the compressor.

oh, i've just seen a lot of tanks with the viair logo on them. maybe just because they're paired with the viair compressor

If you know anyone that welds, they can make you a custom tank with a piece of pipe and some fittings. Have thought about going that route myself.
