Check Engine Light
« on: December 14, 2011, 03:07:43 PM »
My check engine light in my 02 Z71 does not light. I removed the fuel pressure according to the repair manual to check the fuel pressure with a gauge. This should have caused the MIL to light, no?

Anyway, looking thru the repair manual's wiring diagram, I can trace a pink wire that leads to both the PCM and a 10amp Ign1 fuse in the "MID BUSSED ELECTRICAL CENTER". I've also noticed "LEFT BUSSED ELECTRICAL CENTER" and "RIGHT BUSSED ELECTRICAL CENTER" in the diagram as well. What do they mean by this? Where is this located?  :wtf:

Jon Wilson ? Denver auto
No light for fuel pressure on 2002. After 4 pumps I know for a fact.
About the best you'll get is lean fuel condition to light but don't count on that either
First you'll lose your mind

I forgot to mention that I purchased this truck used and had a scanner hooked up before with codes indicating the MIL was activated. I think someone may have elimininated the circuit somewhere which is why I'm asking about the location of the "MID BUSSED ELECTRICAL CENTER" so I can try and track down the problem.

Pull a plug wire for about 10 seconds. That should cause a misfire code.

Either the plug wire or the MAF plug works really well (and easy to get to.)
