New Exhaust
« on: July 13, 2007, 09:02:05 AM »
I have been reading the articles on exhausts on here, which are some pretty good articles I might add, and am leaning towards a Flowmaster single in dual out setup. I priced it around $225 with tips. Seems like a pretty good price to me. Does anyone have any pics of there av with the dual exits on one side? And any with the tips out both sides?

Also I was told of a new system by Cherry Bomb that is supposed to be better than the flowmaster, does anyone now anything about it?

I have the flowmaster dual exhaust but the pipes are for a Z66 and not a Z71 (which is what I have).  I had a muffler shop bend them in place for me because I like the way that they exit the vehicle.  Also, the brackets that were welded on the pipes did not have end caps so when they slid into the rubber grommet they didn't stay in.  I had them fab me up some washers to hold that sucker in place.  Sounds very nice, love it.

One thing, the muffler shop I went to assured me that they could do the whole system for the same price and put whatever tips on it that I wanted and it would be a true dual exhaust.  The shop is west of Noland road on 23rd street in Independence.  Just a thought...

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'm gonna go with the dual exit out behind the tire where it exits now only with stainless tips. The shop I'm going to uses the Flowmaster muffler and Magnaflow tips. Hopefully I'll get it done this week.

Ok I'll go ahead and hit myself with  :nopic:

I got the exhaust put on yesterday and haven't had time for pics. It's a single in dual out Flowmaster muffler with dual Magnaflow tips behind the passenger rear tire. Sounds really good and I've already noticed a slight power pick up and about 2 mpg's. I'm very satisfied with the setup.

I'll try and get a pic tomorrow.
