Finally a topic I have actual experience with and may contribute without any guessing...

I am very grateful and again  :cacrocks" thank you guys for the Flowmaster its Insane...

I'll snap some pictures of the way I had mine installed to give you a better idea, but for the moment a description is all I can offer.  The FM muffler I have is a Single in Single out.  I think they were 2.5" in and outlet diameter.. I'd have to check...  but essentially I had the OEM Muffler cut out and the FM welded in with an extension pipe from the outlet.  I cut the OEM where the two outlets from the muffler meet and become one.  The had a pipe bent and welded from the rear of the muffler to the exisiting tail pipe.  Used the stock hangers... still need to fabricate one more though...  other than that, it fits just fine

I also had my cats cut out and straight pipes of the same diameter welded in.  I added Spark plug nonfoulers to the rear Oxygen sensors in order to avoid the stupid CEL, and it worked like a charm

Only drawback is the in cabin drone, other than that it sounds ALL AMERICAN!

I"ll take and post pics... maybe even a video to show the drone.  It sounds like a "drone".  Kind of like a low bass note on a pair of subwoofers...  its worst is at 2000 RPM.  Its unfortunate that that is the rpm the avy likes most..  For me Im assuming the drone is worse than others who installed a FM because I have removed my catalytic converters.  So thats one less sound dampener from the engine to the muffler.  Other than that I think I'll dynamat the floor pretty soon in an effort to reduce this loud mummur that makes road trips unpleasant.

Heck, I'm 44 and love the noise of my FlowMaster 40 on my 07 Avalanche.  Here are some shots from the back and how they got around the spare.  The muffler just replaced my existing muffler.

Not sure of the manufacturer.  The local muffler shop provided them when they did the work.  Their stainless and about 14" long, give or take a few inches.
