Just got this from Brian...from the light Co.. I sent him the link

Thanks.  this was a good thread.  If you want to respond saying we will have 5 new versions coming out this spring, H1, H3, 9005XS, 9006XS and H13 zXe, feel free.  What are your fogs?  I would think the 800 series fog will follow next year but that hasn?t been decided.

The life has tested out to be the same as SilverStar Ultra.  As for true specs, they are whiter but actually aren?t brighter than ultra in the sense of true down road.  The whiter light does give a perceived brightness greater than Ultra in the immediate distance and great side road (peripheral) vision.  Also, your vehicle just looks cooler to oncoming traffic.

If you want to do some sort of a giveaway contest for a few people on the board, I could probably figure something out.

The fogs are 9145 and it looks like they don't have that in an ULTRA. So we'll see what is out there I guess, maybe HID's are in my future.

Why do some places sell kits with ballasts and some just sell bulbs that dont need ballast?  Just need some direction on my 07 for a white HID for Low Beams, High Beams and Fogs.  Where to buy, which model numbers, etc.    :blink1:

Thanks

You will need the complete kit to upgrade to HID. They sell just bulbs so that you can replace a bulb if it quits working. As far as a white color, stock bulb color is 4300*K and gives the most lumen output. Probably the most-white color, if you can find it, is 5000*K. I've got 6000*K bulbs in mine, which gives a very faint blue tint.

Bulb numbers - check them out in your owner's manual; I can't help you because I've got a 2002. I'm not sure if there's a 2007 electronic manual in the Resources section of the forum.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

There's part numbers on here somewhere. I know trAV posted them before. I'll see if I can stir up the thread after dinner. I was holding out to see if he would post them.

Ok, according to this site: http://www.modifiedlife.com/2007-chevrolet-avalanche-light-bulb-base-size-diagram/

The low beams are the H11, the highs are 9005 and the fogs are 5202 or 9145 ( I'm guessing these are related to the z71 rectangle housings or all the others that have the round housings)

Yours is an LTZ IIRC meaning you would want to find a 25w hid kit so you don't melt your housings. hidgeeks carries them but after a Google search it seems like they've ticked off a lot of customers so buyer beware on that one.

Sorry, I intended to get the numbers but bosses have a way of getting in the way of doing what you really want to do when you are at work.  :anono1:
