Wax On Wax Off: Which Wax Do You Use?

Instant satisfaction is having your ride clean and shiny. Waxing is the quickest and most sure way to protect and maintain your car’s paint. Prep aside (washing and claybaring), do you think the brand of wax matters? It seems like every year a company comes out with a newly revised wax that's supposed to beat the competition. Can a formula really change that much in a year's time to make that much of a difference? We wonder.

Meguiars, Zaino, Mothers, Turtle Wax, NuFinish, Pinnacle, Poorboy's, Klasse, Liquid Glass, Stoner, Tropicare - the list goes on and on!

So, which wax do you use and why?

I use Meguiar's most of the time.  I have also used Eagle One.  But the Meguiar's got most of the swirl marks out of my old blazer, so I have pretty much kept with it since.

I'm currently using Klasse AIO and their sealant/glaze. It works pretty well and seems to last. It's just below Zaino, which seems to come out on the top of the ratings in most of the professional reviews I've read. It doesn't take all of the steps that Zaino does.

I've started using the Meguiar's quick detailer a couple of times a week and it keeps things looking great. I got the first bottle at the first Bratfest - the samples that Yndio brought (thanks!) and I've been using it ever since. I also like their paint cleaner; it seems to take the gound-in dirt and stains off the paint better than even a medium-aggressive compound. That's when using the Porter Cable, of course!
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler, Hooker Max-Flow muffler, Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

I use (and like) Meguiar's NXT.  I don't know it's the best, but I'm happy with the results.

18x10 Forged Weld Wheels, BFG g-Force KDWs, JBA shorties, custom catback with FM70, Crane plug wires, Trailblazer Torque Converter, bigger cam, efans, HP Tuners custom tune, WAAG stuff, mildly boosted with Vortech Supercharger.......
