Topic: Lift Kits ok for non 4x4

Im interested in lifting my '03 avalanche, but it doesnt have 4x4, i like the lifted look but am not sure i should... what are the pros and cons?!

4x4 or not a lift always looks sick! Now depending on the type of lift you wanna do may out way the fact that you are only 2x4.. if you want a mild lift start by just tightening your torson bar keys. That will give you quite a lift and be free. You will have to get an alignment  ASAP! The con to doing that is that your ride may be a little bumpier...

Well depending on your location you may have a truck specialty  shop. Is try there first. Theory are so many lift kit companies out there its so hard to choose one.. just use Google and you can find hundreds of listings.

It really depends on what kind of stance you want. If you want to keep the rake then don't bother with the torsion bars. If you want to get it level, I would suggest some torsion bar leveling keys. It does not matter what order on how you do it. You can level it first and if you like it, leave it that way. If you still want to go higher, then get the lift kit.

Torsion bars pass through an adjustment key (see pix) to adjust the height and and a few other adjustments having to do with alignment. By changing these out to a different key, you can lift the front end up and still maintain the ride quality.

I plan on leveling my Avalanche with a Rough Country kit and replace the shocks and go with some 33" tires and black 20" rims. What part of Texas are you in?

Haha I'm from Lenexa kansas!! Wis I lived in Kansas!! How much is that kit that your wanting to get?! Why change the shocks?
