Let's get the "FAMILY" together for the 2011 Holiday Dinner GTG!!

Who: The Avalanche Family
What: 2011 Holiday Dinner GTG
Where: Bill's Steak House in Bronson Michigan
When: Saturday, December 3 2011 @ 1PM meet and greet and 2PM EAT
Why: To get the Avy Family together before the hussle and bussle of the Holiday Season hits full force

Bills Steak house is a great place for dinner. We have eaten there many times!! Prices are great and so is the food!!
They open at 3PM on Saturdays however, I asked if they could open a little earlier for us and they agreed!! So lets plan on arriving at Bills at 1PM for some meet and greet and say

to new and old friends!!

For those interested, you can bring a toy to be donated to the Toys For Tot's again like last year. This is NOT manditory. Only if you want to.

Sign up as early as you can because I will need a head count for reservations.

I miss my 3-4 visits a year up there. Sometimes work gets in the way of things although this year we did have 3 trips to see the Army kids.

O she'll be there! Getting a couple more things done and all ill have left to do on the outside is finish the brush guard. Cladding is almost finished just got the bed panels to prep and the saddle caps and she will be ready for rims.... Then its the interior :)

A few members have asked if there is anything that they can do for the Holiday Dinner. At the time I couldn't think of anything but now I have!!!

If anyone would like to put together something for the Give-A-Way that would be GREAT!!
Nothing major, Don't spend any money if you don't have to. Some things that come to mind are stuff like Men's and Women's gift baskets filled with tools, small mods, bed and bath stuff, etc...

If you know any business that would donate to the dinner that would be cool too...Gift Cards, shirts, hats, etc... If they ask about a Charity remember that we have the Toys for Tot's Toy Drive going on.

Sounds like you're in good spirits Mike! We'll be praying for your recovery.

Amber's father had a heart attack in September. Amber was with him at the time - she called me in hysterics and told me she thought he was dead. Luckily there was a cooler head around to call 911.

He's doing pretty well now. We called him on his cell to sing happy birthday to him on October 12th and were shocked to hear he was in Alabama, driving his semi. Other than his diet having drastically changed, he's pretty much back to his old self thanks to modern medicine. He had a stent put in the following day and was out of the hospital I think the day after that.

Too freaking many. Shareholders! All of our scheduling is done by a central scheduling group. some VP's kid needed a job so they though this one up.

We've been on a 4 week rotation for a while now. Of course, the weekend I'm counting of having off they end up screwing me on it.

My boss recently got promoted so now it's a "bitch to the committee" of bosses we still have sitting around. Maybe, one of them can get a handle on this. We get one weekend off per month according to our contract and it's been the first weekend of the month for a few months now. Of course, the techs don't have access to the clowns running that end of the circus.

Well I went to cardio rehab this morning and did and astounding job, actually did more than they wanted me to do on the first day, but hey, I'm an extraordinary kinda guy, lol. On the way to the clinic, well I was kinda ina three car crash on I70, you know the syndrome where when one sees a cop they slow down, well the idiot in front of the guy in front of me, lol. He decided to go from about 55 to 20 in a short amount of time, I braked hard enough that I barely did any damange to the guy, did not even dent his plastic bumper, more like a parking lot bump, know what I mean. He gets out and starts giving me crap, I say hey dude unless you wanna pick asphalt out of your face, shut the F up. He calmed down, real quick like lol. The state trooper asked him why he stopped, the guy said he was not qualified to say wether his car had damage or not, lol. The trooper looked at it and told him to be on his way. The lady behind me did not fair so well, tore her blazer up pretty good. Minimul damage to the AV, looks like its gonna need a rear bumper, bracket and right quarter panel. When it rains it pours, lol. Then went to the clinic to be recertified on my CDL physical, sniff. Unbeknown-st to me or the company, when one has a heart attack or even stints put in as a precautionary procedure, your off for a minimum of two months from the date of the procedure, ugh. I was so pumped to get back at it, I feel really good but Obama's people say sit on your ass! grrr I'm going to get me a collection bucket and stand by the interstate off ramp next week!

new paper gasket with some black rtv, 3 qts of 75w-90 mobile one and you're good to go.

Ok so its fixed... Somewhat... I got the new gasket and diff fluid in there but while I was taking everything apart and cleaning it I found 3...chunks of something... And another one that is lodged in the spill way from the yoke to the diff gears. Then I got to the diff cover and found out that those chunks got wedged between the gear and the cover and put a small hair line crack in the cover.. I put some quick setting seal on it and it seems to be holding up. I'll check it in the morning before we hit the road.. ill bring those pieces with me maybe somebody will know what they broke off of. I'm gonna make it even if I have to have it towed up there!!!..... I hope not :-

Bills Steak House has roped off a section of the parking lot for us so look for that section to park at.

There will be a lot of other vehicles in the parking lot this morning due to a snowmobile auction across the street.

I'm gonna go check everything out here in a little bit. I know I fixed the larger leak where the gasket was torn but the small crack in the cover plate might still be leaking... I put some rtv on it last night and it seemed to be holding up! The only concern I have is those chunks of (something) we pulled out of the diff... But its been doing fine so far so they must not be too important lol.. ill see everybody out there!

Home safe and sound. Big thanks to Kimmers and BigC and Shoppy for hosting. Great time and great food. I've got more pix on my camera and on Twiggy's also to sort and post. 8 hours of driving today and I get to go to work tomorrow.
