Hockey puck lift/ update
« on: August 28, 2011, 07:11:53 PM »
Hay everybody! Will its been a while since I've givin any updates on the truck.. I got a lot of projects going on right now working on the rear facing off road lights trying to male a switch panal for those and the forward facing grill lights. I'm in the process of doing a write up for making a roof mounted light bar. But today I made a little more progress I finally installed the leveling keys that I have been sitting on for 3 weeks now! Went to a buddies shop and got them installed and got the alignment  fixed and I love the look it has now!

Now I am wondering about a 1-2 in body lift using hockey pucks! obviously  the advantage to using pucks is the price (89cents a piece) but I want to know from you guys what you think. And if anybody has advice its more then welcomed!

Looking good with those keys in it. I haven't heard of using "hockey pucks" before. This should be interesting. Don't forget your bumpers are still attached to the frame. You'll have to fab up some brackets to relocate them.

Do you mean the bumper covers or the actual bumpers? When I was installing the new bumper cover I noticed that the brackets were slotted so that might help out a little if not its nothing a dremmel won't fix. And for the rear bumper I have an idea to fill the gap I could use a garage door bottom seal and rivet it in. I used it as a lip on my tiburon and made it look lower.

Actually both. The covers attatch to the bumpers.

I'm not too sure on the front one I can't quite remember so I'm gonna take your word for it.. now I only plan on going 2 pucks high (little under 2 inch lift once the weight of the body is put back down) off the top of your head what kind of brackets will I have to fab for the front bumper cover? I have the rear on figured out

Using hockey pucks for lifts are great. I know guys that have been doing it for years. Inexpensive lift, you can usually buy pucks for a buck a piece, or by the buckets. One puck per inch is usually what is used.
