Bed rug?
« on: August 15, 2011, 10:10:34 AM »
When I was at Carlisle, I saw Enkei had some kind of a bed rug, along with a promotional Bed-ryder removable truck bed seat, underneath his cap.  I had a thought, which basically could be used with any pickup, but my questions varied, and the one that bothered me most was, if you are in the bed of an avy, with a cap, and the midgate window out, would you be able to enjoy the climate settings coming from the cab?  would that be a little more complex with a regular pickup?  Thank you!

I would think that there would be limited airflow to the bed through the window opening and therefore your enjoyment of the climate control for the cab would be rather limited.

Glad you replied!  Thanks!

That makes sense, actually.  I was going to try a mock bed-ryder using a Suburban 3rd row seat and a cap (universal for probably any pickup), but if airflow from the cab into the bed area is going to be poor, then I wouldn't want the cap on, but then you take weather into effect, and then you have a whole heap of trouble.

If anyone has any other opinions, let me know, please and thank you!

Sounds like you want a Suburban.

Theoretically speaking, lol.  Although I almost nabbed a '91 Suburban in attempt to restore it, but they wanted way too much for it...but i digress.  I was actually intrigued by the idea, but yes its too much like a suburban at that point, and takes a lot away from what the avy really is.  Thank you!
