EXCELLENT WRITE UP!
tried to read thread but got message "article not approved"...
Dunno what was going on with that. I think it was in the permission setting and I think I corrected that. I c/p'd the article into a new thread and made the needed changes to the link in the first thread here.
Thanks mike!!!! Sorry I can't make it today :( I actually just got off work... Hope everybody has fun today SENT FROM MY EVO 4G
I'm not expecting much of a turnout with the weather looking like it is. Just peeked at the radar map and it's looking like light rain about the time of the GTG
Very nice write up.......
Excellent writeup! I think that would be cheaper to do then buying a stubby one, although i still would like the shaved look. Ill PM you when I think about doing it...Thank you!JonP.S. - I know i probably shouldve started a new toping, but does anyone has anyone read my other post on this same string? Any tips? Thanks.
Umm not too sure if I know what exactly your talking about... I think I've heard of people flipping their antennas upside down and having them inside their fender... Is that what your getting at?SENT FROM MY EVO 4G
yes, theres a mod in which you take a 90 degree piece of metal, use the original bracketry on one side, and mount the antenna on the other. its kinda chinsy, seeing how the write up actually advises you to use wire ties as a permanent mounting solution, so it doesnt rattle around on the inside of the fender, though crippling frequency much more by doing so. so i thought a stubby antenna and an inverted mounting design from the original bracketry would neither rattle against the fender or get caught on the hood hinge.Jon
Ahh gotcha now! Not too sure where to find something like that maybe check other car or truck forums....not so sure about the wire ties tho that's kinda a haggered way of installing things... My hid ballast for my head lights are zip tied to the bottom of the head light housing and it drives me nuts look at it every time I pop my hood... I think this weekend I'm gonna do a write up on how to install them and ill figure out a mounting point for them SENT FROM MY EVO 4G
That would be great! Im getting HIDs soon and i asked myself the same thing.Jon
I have been thinking about doing a mod like this... I am having issues finding the article though!!
