Modding thread for Bratfest 2011
« on: July 31, 2011, 07:43:23 PM »
Post them up. Who needs what. Let's keep in mind it's best to stay with the someone simple mods so more get completed.

OBB- Wires for bezel mounted back up camera into tailgate

Remove and replace back window decals with new CAC decals.

Replace passenger side DRL socket (if somebody tells me what parts I need to order)

Replace current billet grille with different billet grill and see if bug deflector will now fit.

Tailgate torsion bar for me.

Intimidator- Bed rug ... He was too impatient to wait on this one!
TMI Led light kit (3 light bars to install under tailgate like black beauty)
and another electrical mod care of desire hardwood ...

*Ranalli - All four tail lights. and would like to get the fogs to auto come on with the headlights. (* if he makes it)

I may have one more socket out in the garage Tdy. I'll look tomorrow. All you'll actually need it the white insert that goes in the socket. If not, tell the dealer you need a DRL socket for a cladded avy. I think they're about $15.

Post them up. Who needs what. Let's keep in mind it's best to stay with the someone simple mods so more get completed.

OBB- Slot rear bumper brackets (time permitting and Richies tools permitting) to lower the rear bumper about 1/2" to accommodate a new light bar.

Let me know what you may need.
Depending on what the brackets look like, maybe we can take a quick trip to my shop and use a hydraulic punch.
Heck, send me some pictures with dimensions and what you want to do and I could possibly make new brackets with our new CNC plasma.(That thing is totally cool)

Amber DRL's, Brake Controller, Mag-Lite Mod
Magna Flow Exhaust, Air Lift on rear, tailgate torsion bar, rearview camera, Rear headrest mod.

The holes will need "slotted" a little to let the bumper sit a little lower. I'll try to figure out which ones before then.

I hadn't thought about doing it with a cutoff wheel. I was planning to use my battery operated Sawzall.

Slight thread-jack, but did you move the lights over to the new truck? I guess we'll find out before very long.

I think my main mod is to wash the truck, though I will have to do that at home. 2funny
I've hardly had any time this year for cars except for maintenance or repairs.

Desire made me remember I have a new style sticker to replace my Midwest Avalanche Club one.

Think you all can turn a Silverado into an Avalanche?  If so, I'll cancel my vacation and be there.
2011 Silverado, Ext Cab Z-71 5.3, 6L80, Airaid CAI, Magnaflow cat-back, and a little tuning by me and HPT.

Gone but not forgotten, 2002 Victory red. The quickest lifted 4x4 AV in the US in it's day.

All we need is a Sawzall to cut the rear of the cab and bed out, a welder to stitch in some metal between the cab and the bed, and some type of topper and you're in business! I bet we could get it done in a day.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. I changed mine. The hell with the bumper for now. I'd like to get wires run in my tailgate for my bezel mounted back up camera. I've got holes drilled for it but couldn't get the wires fished up through there.

I may have one more socket out in the garage Tdy. I'll look tomorrow. All you'll actually need it the white insert that goes in the socket. If not, tell the dealer you need a DRL socket for a cladded avy. I think they're about $15.

I totally blew off getting this so this won't get fixed this weekend.

I don't think I have the regular drl socket but,,,,,,  HenryJ has a nice post on here about modding a turn signal socket to work. All that got tossed in the back of the avy when I was off on Tues. I didn't go through the box very well. We'll see if we can take care of it.

Chris, I have a DRL socket for a cladded Av.
Still new in the plastic bag.
I bought it for my '02 but never changed it before I traded the '02 in.
I'll bring it with me and you can have it.

We got my tailgate torsion bar installed and man, what a huge difference! Thanks to everyone for the help. There's no way I could have done it by myself.
