HIDs and some other questions
« on: July 11, 2011, 02:14:27 PM »
some of you might consider this a dead topic, but I found a site that has what i seem to think are good HID's.  its at luminics.com and I think I might get mine from there.  just a few questions: one, will my all on high mod do damage to my truck/HID bulbs when its on? and two, i was thinking about getting jdm yellow fog lights; good idea, or bad idea?  let me know (especially if theres anything else im missing, :P)  Thank you!

ddmtuning.com

45$ for the slim ballast and you WANT the slim because of the lack of space.

i got my HIDs from them and never turned back not one problem everything has been fine. the only concern i have to say with the mod is the wattage might overheat the housing and melt it down im not sure of anyone who did that with both high beams and low beams but. get your lights from ddmtuning.com...great quality great service and great product i love them.

ill have to figure it out.  if i have the money, i might just go with yellow fog HIDs and white HIDs on the lows, and simply rock the silverstars on the highs.  that way i can still do the all on high mod and have no problem passing inspection.  thanks for the tip!  ill have to keep them in mind.

you don't need the harnesses. Stay with the 35watt for the fogs though. 55w MIGHT damage your housings.

I have the 35w in the lows and fogs I believe and the all on hi mod. Don't have them in the hi's because we just don't use them that much. They have been there for a coupe yrs now with no issues whatsoever.

If you get the DDM lights for the fogs, you will have to reverse the wiring at the plug but there is a write up for it on DDM's website.

You can't wrong with DDm and trust me, they make a huge difference.

nice, and thanks for the tip, however, i couldnt find ANYTHING on there in relation to a writeup for the 881 size HID's or anything of that nature, just a bunch of different "H" size bulbs and the 9000-series.  any chance it may be listed under a different size?  thank you

If you go here:

http://ddmtuning.com/Products/HID-Bulb-Replacements-Pair

And hit the drop down bulb type menu, and look 8 up from the bottom, it shows all 800 series bulbs.

I've got hid is my lows (9005) and my fogs (880) they are both 8k 55watt ballest and I've never had any issues with the all on high mod. I actually added more lights behind the grill. I don't have time today but if I can find some pics here at work ill post them. As far as your jdm yellow lights thought.. I say go for it. It is the lowest frequency light beam so it would make you way more visible! Just comes down to personal preference  I guess
