Bratfest weekend/ other activities
« on: July 08, 2011, 09:38:05 AM »
Last year we did a Sat night dinner and drinks. Twiggy and I took the kids to the Budweiser brewery on Sat afternoon for the free tour. Ski Edition mentioned a round of golf on Sat morning and then his family is going to the Cards/Reds game.
Anyone up for a round of golf? I'm bringing my clubs with me also.

Anything else people think about doing?

Dinner and drinks works for me... I don't golf and my fat :ass1000: and stadium seating don't get along well.

Maybe some Saturday afternoon modding?   :dunno:

I'll have Beave and Trouble with me, who neither have been to St. Louis. I am sure we will do the Bud tour and go see the Arch. Will be up for dinner and drinks Sat night!

Drinks, clean the bugs off the AV, drinks, dinner, and drinks sounds good to me.... I would love to golf but I haven't touched my clubs since they started making them out of metal.  Game sounds fun, but it will depend on who I have with me.  I'm kind of like Chris... stadium seating and me don't get along with each other, I can't sit there with the seat in front of me digging into my shins.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend, but she left me before we met.

Intimidator and family and us are going to do the Bud tour at 10am and the Arch at 4pm on Saturday. Then plan to meet up for dinner and cocktails!

If you plan to ride to the top of the arch you should go down earlier in the day and buy your tickets. There is a limited number of tickets and they normally sell out fairly early. I'd suggest you make time to swing by on your way to the Bud tour. The Arch and the Bud factory aren't too far apart.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

Yea right!!  Only way Mick would caddy is to drive the golf cart and would probably be the only person to ever get a DUI on the golf course!!!   banghead1

Speaking of........................................

Got a little more done but ran into problems, I screwed up on the hole/bracket dimensions for the front brackets. I had them fabricated and went to install them and found the problem. I looked at the CAD drawings I had made and the brackets are made to the drawing, so now I have to go back to my original sketch and see what I had.

I'm thinking about five or six for going, a lot of times if you sign up for their players club card at the casino, you get a free buffet coupon, not sure if this is the case there or not.  Eat first then gamble the night away, lol.  Let me know, you got the number.

Is this going to be where the Dinner/Drinks are? Intimidator and us have kids, so we won't be able to join you (most casinos do not allow children anywhere on property). We can stay DTO and head to station square or something, just need to know so we can make plans. The 7 of us have tickets to the Arch at 4pm Saturday. Thanks!

I don't think so. Fowlhunter will have a place to go that is kid friendly. GBT and Toots are coming also and are planning on going to the Arch on Saturday.

Ok, cool! Brian would go to the casino after dinner...which one are you all going to? Looks like there are 3-4 in the area??  We bought our tickets on line to the Arch. Hope that will speed the process along; and it came with free parking...yay!

I don't plan on going to the casino so there will be other options, I'm sure.

Ok, cool! Brian would go to the casino after dinner...which one are you all going to? Looks like there are 3-4 in the area??  We bought our tickets on line to the Arch. Hope that will speed the process along; and it came with free parking...yay!
Not sure yet. We'll see what Didit is thinking. If I get a chance I'll see if there's anything online I can find out about them.

All the casinos around here allow kids, just not on the casino game floor.
If you want a buffet, I'd have to say Ameristar is the best.

I'll try to find out if they offer a free buffet for signing up there.

Ameristar Casino.  Doesn't look like a free buffet on the weekend to me but this promotion is only good for August.
http://www.ameristar.com/St_Charles_Dining.aspx

Harrah's doesn't have anything listed on their site.

River City Casino doesn't appear to have any specials either.

Any idea how to find that out? The Ameristar is the closest one to the hotels for sure.

Golf is out on Saturday morning. Ski and Family won't get to town until sometime Sat afternoon. Was there anyone else that was thinking of playing? If so, I'll still dust off the clubs and bring them.

Brewery tour is free along with a few complimentary draft beers at the end of it for those of legal age. If you're not going up into the arch, it's also free admission to check out the museum under it IIRC. There is a metal detector that you have to go through to even get into the museum area under the Arch.

We are doing Bud at 10am and Arch at 4pm. Lunch somewhere in between, maybe Union Station. Come hang with us!

Yay! You might want to go online and buy tickets for 4pm. Intimidator and us have already bought ours for that time slot.

You want the North Tram Tickets for 4pm. You have to buy them in advance, they don't do same day sales (online). If you try to buy them there that day, you are first come first serve and I understand the lines are looooong.

She's correct. I think we stood in line for about an hour for a tram ride that was 2 hours later.

I'm pretty sure Jim and Carol are going to do that also. I mentioned the fact that you were taking the 4 o'clock ride up top and bought your tickets online.

Do we want to try to meet for breakfast before the Bud tour? I have no idea how long of a drive it is from hotel to Bud plant. Or wait...does the hotel have breakfast? I forget....

One of the reasons I like this hotel is the breakfast they serve. It beats going out and spending more money elsewhere.

Would be a nice idea if we can find out how much travel time we need to get to the plant.
