OK folks, it's that time of year once again! Bratfest!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites next to the IHOP last year in St Peters (about 3 miles from the park). It was really nice. Clean and a good breakfast.

I've got an email from Country Inn. It's telling me that if I book 2 or more nights for stays between now and Oct 1st. I get 35% off. I'm sure it has to be paid up front but that's like getting a free night. I have to book between now and July 12th. It comes out to $62.18 per night plus tax. Time to do some button clicking.

Nice that's better than what I was getting just going to their site. Did they specify what type of room? Like King or 2 queens....?

They have a deal that if you pay upfront within 21 days of your stay it's 20% off. This one didn't require upfront payment. I had my choice of a King bed or 2 queens. No kids this year so we took the king. Save the 2 beds for someone else that needs two beds.

That game's always a sell out due to playoff races. I'd get tickets now if you can get her to commit.

oh, about the dogs. We have 3 and always use a college kid from church to house/dog sit for us. They make a couple of bucks and we're not leaving the house empty or the dogs somewhere else.

I see we are generating at least a little interest by continuing to bump the thread on TOS. I've also pm'd Codejunkie to see if he'll respond but he hasn't yet. I invited him last year also and he didn't come so he may be someone who doesn't do GTGs. He doesn't post a whole lot so again, he may be someone who uses the forums to observe and gather info. It's shaping up to be a pretty good year.

I seriously doubt we will be able to make it as I have one kid that is going to attempt to play 3 sports this fall-football, baseball & Lacrosse and the other kid playing baseball. So I think our chances of having games that weekend are going to be pretty good. My whole entire life right now is work and kids activities

In the event hell freezes over and pigs are flying that weekend and we don't have any games we'll definitely try to make it.

GREAT NEWS-- As of August 9th i will be attending Lincoln Tech for Automotive to get my ASE Certifications and hopefully get my job back working with my dad.

GOOD NEWS-- I'm one by one taking things off my mods list i made way back in October and hopefully will surprise many when going to a GTG

BAD NEWS....

due to th fact Lincoln Tech starts August 9th and i have the morning classes....i will not be attending this years bratfest.... but if between now and then a few members in PA and (OHIOBELLBOY) wanna have a GTG somewhere thats not a 15 hour drive for me

i will gladly drive to the middle on a friday since my school is only Mon-Thurs 715-230...

as always ill remain on the forum keepin in touch everyday now but next year and i mean it when i say it next year i will be there with a very unique truck ...

For those of you coming from the east, be forewarned that I70 West of Indy(Plainfield) is under construction to the Illinois border, this started yesterday, three different construction companies are doing the bridge decks plus some other paving and patching, you might want to go north on the west side of indy to US 40 (Washington St) to Terre Haute, south on 41 back to 70 West, its the scenic route through the Hoosier State, lol.

Googlemaps says it's about an extra 40 mins. I think we can deal with that and not having the aggravation of rocks and crap getting tossed against the trucks. The only thing I'm not crazy about it the entrance to I-70 there at US 41. It's one lane and a little bunny hill you can't see over very well.

Found this. Looks like 70 might be back to full strength by the time we come through. We'll keep an eye on it.

Well apparently the construction crews are not as gung ho as the Indy Star made them out to be. I went 70 west this morning to see for myself, I came across two one lane stretches both approximately five miles in length, hard to tell at 5 in the morning but it did appear they were doing the inside shoulder work first, or perhaps new drainage, not sure. I can across on 1000 ft single lane section where new concrete had been poured, I'm guessing that will be opened later today.
The article I read in the Indy star made is seem like it was pretty much a single lane all the way from that time on. ugh. With what OBB found about holiday non construction, which I have still not heard on the news on this end, I70 should be clear sailing! Keep your fingers crossed!

Their supposed to suspend all construction for the weekend. Pay attention to how well they have the debris off the road also please.

St Charles gas prices is about 3.31 right now. If you get this far, wait to get into Missouri to fill up. You can also check out www.gasbuddy.com to get prices across the country and www.stlouisgasprices.com for the St. Louis area.
