Tune by Tuna 2011
« on: June 24, 2011, 06:17:33 PM »
The Tuna has spoken!!
The show is back at Smith & Wesson.
The parade to the Shriner's Hospital for Children is a go!!
Sunday August 14, 2011
10 am to 5 pm
Smith & Wesson
2100 Roosevelt Ave
Springfield, MA

In 2009, the AVs made a big showing!! Final count(I think)was 15 AVs and an EXT. We had AVs from NY, MA, and CT show up. Most of us did the parade, which is by far the most rewarding thing you can do in an Avalanche.

Last years show ended up being a last minute affair for the Shriner's. With construction at Smith & Wesson, a Ford dealer stepped up to host the show. Cramped parking, no parade, and only 3 of us were able to make it.

This year is going to be different.....hopefully!!! Stock, modded, or daily driver...it doesn't matter. If you ask any of those who did the 2009 show and parade, there is nothing more rewarding than doing this show and the parade. I know we do alot of shows here, but this one is well worth it.

So who's in on putting a smile on a little kids face!!!

It's a cruise/parade. Basically everyone in the show is invited to take a cruise to the Shriners Hospital before awards are presented. Any of the kids that are able to go outside line up the front of the hospital to watch the cruise go by.
Most of the info is in the first post.

Here's their webpage- http://www.tunebytuna.com/

Look around the site and you should be able to find the info you may be looking for!!

The AVs in the New England area enjoy doing some of these shows. This one seems to draw the biggest crowd for us.  The trick is trying to get all those Midwest AVs we hear about out there to come out here for one!!

I guess the cool thing to do out there is to leave them in a garage, under cover next to the motorcycle

Nick unfortunately me and the av aren't gonna be able to make it. I got marine things I gotta do with matt. They changed their drill weekend to that weekend and Sunday the 14th is family day so I gotta go support my marine for mandatory fun... And here I thought that my DD214 meant no more marine mandatory fun.

BOOOOOOO!!! What about you AV family? O-well, I'm sure it won't be as fun as the show, But I do hope you have a good time!!  :victory:

On another note....I have this posted on several sites. Doing the attending list is a little tricky due to the fact not everyone are members between the sites. It looks like we are up to 13 + Avs attending if everyone is able to make it. It's turning into a great turn out for the show.

As it gets closer, I'll post up some of the plans for meeting and such.

Id like to come, but money is tight, and work says the last 2 weeks before school starts is unavailable to take off.  I will keep an eye on the website to see when there will be meets near me.  Thank you!

Sorry everyone, been a little busy lately and with this less than 2 weeks away, I've got to get this moving. The way we have done it in the past has worked out well, so we'll see if it works out again....

-7:30-8am - meet at the Dunkin Donuts off 495(King St. exit 16) --head out to the mass pike......8:01am you'll be all alone!!!!
-9amish- meet at the service plaza on mass pike(Charlton)between exit 10 and exit 9 eastbound--continue on our way
-10amish- FINAL MEET at Pride Travel Centre off of the pike @ exit 6 (363 Burnett Road, Chicopee)
From there once everyone who is meeting us there is there, we can head to the show.

This should work out well for those of us in Mass and most of New England. For those of you who might be joining us from NY, NJ, and else where, the final meeting spot is what you should go for.
Let me know where your meeting us so we don't leave you behind!!

Bring what you think you might need. Food and beverages are provided at the show, but for a cost of course. Most of us bring a cooler of something to drink during the show. There is a small BBQ planned at another owners house in Springfield after the show. All are welcome to join us. If you want to bring something for it let me know and I'll past the word along!!!

Got any questions, let me know!!!
