It shouldn't be a problem coating them. You'll want to scuff them up with a Scotchbrite pad or something similar and then degrease them.

sweet man, thanks.  i dont want to seem like Im just snagging ideas for my truck, but all in all, im going for a sort of dark look, bc i cant really afford a paint job right now, so my bumpers (when i order them from LMC) will be black, the assist steps will be a textured/flat black, the grille will be undercoated, ie, flat black, i will tint the front windows, get steel wheels, also painted (satin) black, etc.  thank you!

damn thats nice.  thinking about doing the same thing with my assist steps, just working out some little things with my g/f's brother before we do it...any thoughts?  is it a good idea? bad idea? any kind of prepping necessary?  thank you!

Jon

I think it's a great idea and pretty durable from what I've seen so far.

That's a nice look.
How do you apply this stuff? Where did you purchase it from?

Thanks.
I don't, I found a local shop that has been spraying it for me. I just picked up the rear quarter panel pieces of cladding (left and right in front and behind the tires) yesterday. I need to do a little repair work around my cupholders, I didn't want the inside sprayed so they were masked off but the masking was removed and I caan tell.  banghead1  All in all the pieces of cladding turned out great so far but it's going to be costly to have everything sprayed.
