Fellow CAC member, "Didit" has actually PM'd me some brief instructions on how to mod the #1 panel so that it locks AND reinforces all at the same time.  I went out and bought some 1/8"x2"x4' angle iron from lowes at a whopping $17.  throw in a couple brinks brand 2" padlocks for another $18 at walmart, plus all necessary hardware, and for about $40, you #1 panel will never be stolen (or sag) again!  I have yet to perform this mod, actually, but will do a write-up when I do do it.   :yourock:

Jon

May I get this forwarded to me?  My 3rd panel sags pretty bad, and locking it wouldn't be a bad idea, either.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I have yet to do this, :P  However, I just dug out the angle iron from our shed and, despite a mild amount of surface rust, will be installing hopefully this summer.  I dont recall the exact measurements, but zap screws are perfect for fastening this puppy to our #3 panels.  The angle iron will bet slightly scuffed, hit with some rust reformer, rusty metal primer, and some truck bed liner.

TIP: Just found out that lowe's sells truck bed liner like candy, for a whopping $6 a can, compared to almost $8 or $9 at walley world, lol.
