a work in progress...
« on: May 14, 2011, 05:43:51 PM »
Year:2010
Model:LT
Engine:5.3 L V-8
Axle Gear Ratio:Factory
Suspension:Factory with 3" lift
Tires:285/65/R18 All Terrain
Wheels:Ballistic Off Road 18" Chrome
Accessories:Bushwacker Pocket-Style fender flares, self-lowering nerf bars, wind deflectors, 3" body lift
Future Modifications:vigorously searching for a heavy-duty front bumper replacement with grill guard, grill insert, after-market headlamps and tail lights, different rims and tires (thinking black rims and more rugged tires.

Aside from the fender flares and wind deflectors, I bought this truck as it appears.  I absolutely LOVE the auto-lowering nerf bars (especially since it is lifted), but dont care for the rims and tires much.  I added the fender flares today, and Ive not yet decided if I like them or not.  I would appreciate any and all opinions/comments.  My thoughts:  they make the truck appear 1/2 done...like something is missing.  If I could ever find a replacement bumper like what I have imagined, I think this issue would be resolved????  Thanks in advance for your input.

I agree with Enkei - welcome to the club.

As far as the flares, as the truck currently sits I agree with you. If you weren't going to add a new bumper I would say paint them body color and you'd be good to go.
2002 LPM Z71, factory 4.10s - Magnacharger w/3" pulley, TOG's headers, 216/224-.551/.551-115 cam/pushrods/dual springs/titanium retainers, built tranny, Yank TT2600 stall converter, 24K GVW Tru-Cool tranny cooler,  Flex-A-Lites, ProCold intake, MSD wires & TR6 plugs, 20" Panther Juice 6's, 2.8" rear lowering springs & assorted hardware, J&J Enterprises stainless grille, body-color painted taillight covers. Self-tuned with HP Tuners software.

Cracked rear bumper cover from a run-in with a deer in fall 2008!

I'm really liking the 2nd gen lifted the more I see them   I agree with MBT, if you don't find a bumper you like, paint them to match the truck.

Nice ride   I agree with the others on painting the flares to match the body unless you do something with the front bumper.

Oh yeah welcome to the club!

That is a great looking Av.

Agreed as well, definitely need a heavier duty bumper and grille guard for the front to finish it off. I like the tire/wheel myself but that's what it's all about, your own taste.

Bullbar, Sailpanel LED'S, Elec Tgate & Sbag Locks, Custom Decals, Ventvisors, Lund Bug Guard, Amber's, All 4 Hi FTDRL, Mag Lite/Fire Ext Mod, Headrest Monitors, bedslide
